For those people saying "If people could make gta 4 look photorealistic using icenhancer and stuff, why didn't gta 4 just do it themselves?" Game developers have certain styles to them. Take borderlands for example, it looks great but certainly not photorealistic. Grand theft auto hasn't attempted to go photorealistic because it doesn't suit the overall feel of the games. This time its different. They wanted to make it feel REAL and immersible. So they took the advancements they made in gta 4 and enhanced them.

GTA5 makes 4 look creepy. I like the overall approach in GTA5.

Its a huge performance hit and can take away man hours from other work.

borderlands shouldn't even be in the same sentence as photo realistic, and grand theft auto has attempted to go photo realistic every game, what are you smoking??? the only reason it hasn't pushed the envelope with mods like icenhancer etc. is because of system limitations at the time, and to keep all titles to a certain degree of visual lock so that the frame rate and the overall development goes smooth. Photorealistic def suits gta, your in another world bra

You're a moron iFamouz1.

Rockstar has been shooting for the NOT photo realistic look with GTA since day one.. it was always supposed to look believable while also being a bit cartoonish. The environment was always supposed to be surreal while the characters where supposed to look 'comic bookish.'

If you go back and read the interviews. They describe the look over and over.

Cirran4170d ago

But borderlands is very photo-realistic? Have you seen Angel? Almost looks like a real actor...

T3MPL3TON 4170d ago

.... because it is a real actor..

oh you got me.. I was trolled..

Boy, if they ever needed a Hot Coffee mod somewhere in a GTA game...

...now would be the time.

nevin14170d ago

Will all that data fit on DVD?

pixelsword4169d ago

@ Nevin:

Nope. They had to cut stuff from GTA 4 because of the DVD; it' probably going to be one section per disc or something like that, def. more than two discs.

Cost of realistic looking movement.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Profchaos32d ago (Edited 32d ago )

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar32d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo32d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp32d ago (Edited 32d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg32d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos32d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
