The One Video Game We'd Choose to Play on a Deserted Island

GameDynamo - "Imagine the world as you know it has ended, at least for you. You're stuck in a deserted island, with no hopes of ever going back to civilization, no Internet connection, no friends... I know, pretty misserable, but hey, you get to choose a video game, one that'll keep you entertained for hours on end... And you know what? Somehow the game console works, but you only have that one game to play. Which one would you pick? What video game would you take with you to a deserted island? Here at GameDynamo we tried to answer that question the best we could."

I'd definitely have to pick something dynamic that would change each time played, like a puzzle game. I couldn't play the same scripted game over and over. Or you could cheat and pick a game collection, get multiple games on the same disc :)

Grand Theft Auto 5 or San Andreas, Little Big Planet so you can Create New Levels, Skyrim With all the DLC would be cool also

TheFirstClassic4174d ago

I would hate to think what would become of someone after playing nothing but gta for a few months on a deserted island. Once you got back to civilization, it would be pretty freakin hard to resist swerving into pedestrians.

Cant Forget To Pick Up the floating Piles of ¢a$h.! And ALL That Jet, Helicoptor Pilot Training , and How easy it is To Steal a Tank

Thefreeman0124174d ago

probably take my everquest classic, or something that was social so i didnt go crazy

DarkTower8054174d ago

No internet though. But yeah, without social interaction you'd probably start going nuts and start talking to the video game characters like they were real lol.

YoungKingDoran4174d ago

if it wasnt Tetris, I'd have to go a game with new game plus done right, like demons/dark souls

Blankman854174d ago

Hitman Blood Money. That game blew my mind with just how many different way you could complete a mission.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast13d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22913d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko13d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave13d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

Final Fantasy VI turns 30 and it still feels new today

One of the most beloved entries in Square Enix’s long-running franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary and that’s cause for celebration!

FFVI is a timeless classic, surely one of the best games ever created.

_Decadent_Descent16d ago

I really do wish they'd give it the FF7R treatment.

phoenixwing16d ago

Ff6 is probably the most deserving for that

Cacabunga16d ago

Octopath traveller or Star Ocean remake treatment would fit it better i think

FinalFantasyFanatic15d ago

I'd rather it play more or less the same by have the 3D chibi graphics from Ever Crisis, I don't want them to change the story like they did with FF7R.

Wish they still made them like this, obviously with a graphic update.
