Holy Vita Vegita!!! I hope Digital Extreme is not developing multiplayer for this game. The multiplayer suck in BioShock 2. If they manage to make it a better multiplayer I will give it a try. I don't like Digital Extreme track record of games, because they are just a mediocre developer. Bioshock Infinite is great with or without mulitplayer, so I hope they don't screw it up.

The multiplayer was not the best I ever played but I did enjoy it. I got the platinum for Bioshock 2 so I had to play it for hours and I learned to enjoy it.

It was fun owning people as a big daddy.

If they use Bioshock 2 as a base and improve upon it I will have no problem.

jimbobwahey4195d ago

Yeah, I had a lot of fun with the multiplayer in Bioshock 2 and the idea behind it, with all the plasmids, weapons, hacking and being able to be a big daddy was awesome.

My only issues with it were that it could get pretty laggy sometimes, but when it worked properly it was really enjoyable.

FunAndGun4195d ago

I felt the same. The game was actually really fun when it worked and was stable.

If there was no lag I would have played some more after getting the Plat, but the skip skip jerk jerk got too annoying.

BioShock 2's multiplayer was not needed. I really Infinite doesn't have any. I just don't want it. A waste of time.

HarryMasonHerpderp4195d ago

Same here, people buy Bioshock for the awesome story in single player.

I_LOVE_MYSELF4195d ago

It wasn't needed, but it is expected. It's a shame, but it's the truth. As long as the SP is strong and a complete product worthy of the price tag then there is no need to not include Multiplayer either.

I believe games should reach as wide an audience as possible. As long as games don't force Coop into your SP experience then people should be pretty much okay with other MP features.

I'd like to see something innovative with Columbia's factions, the skyhooks and maybe even supernatural powers. Could be awesome. Sounds like they've struggled to crack it though, and shooters simply don't get made without MP these days....

The job listing has nothing to do with irrational games. The only connection between the listing and irrational games is digital extremes worked on bioshock 2. Why do people assume it has to do with bioshock infinite when they are two completely separate devs.

As I said below, it's probably for The Darkness 3.

Judas First Details: How Ken Levine Is Building on BioShock With 'Narrative LEGOs'

IGN: "We spent six hours playing a recent build of Judas, the next game from BioShock creator Ken Levine, followed by a lengthy conversation with the renowned game designer to discuss the long wait since BioShock Infinite, bringing the "narrative LEGOs" concept to life in Judas, what the game is all about, and much more."

I’m tentatively hopeful for this. Love Bioshock. As far as the narrative Legos we shall have to wait and see. The early trailer for Infinite showed off a lot of stuff that didn’t make it into the finished product, and Levine is notoriously difficult to work for, so if this narrative stuff makes it into the came will be curious to see how impactful it is. I’d be fine with something more in the vein of the first Bioshock. Not much like that now, especially since Arkane’s fall from grace.

I didn’t realize Levine’s new studio was under 2K Games just like Irrational was. What was the point quitting Irrational and then 2K dissolving the studio only for him to open up a smaller studio still under 2K? Why not just downsize Irrational, keep operations going and have the brand recognition. Cuz it’s not like Judas is a departure from his normal style. Must be a story there

Cloud Chamber, under 2K, is the new studio developing the next Bioshock (4?) game.

I imagine he had a negative experience building Bioshock Infinite, due to the pressure on the team. As you pointed out in your other comment, lots from that game was cut out or changed before release. I suspect he wanted the opportunity to step back and create a game in a timescale that allowed him to deliver the product he wanted.

Irrational may have also been locked into certain contracts under 2K, and opening a new studio may have allowed him to negotiate new terms.
