Intel just blows AMD out the water as far as performance but AMD gets the job done nicely for Budget gamers.

AMD doesn't even care about high performance anymore ....Intel has zero competition in that market space.

It depends on the uses.

For heavy number crunching processes like encrypting and decrypting the Intels provide a huge benefit but for gaming it has been shown time after time in benchmarks that the best Intels only provide an average 2-3fps increase over the best AMD's.

Everyone knows Bulldozer (even AMD but they'll never admit it) was a disaster like out of Movie. Piledriver is a much need improvement. however, Sandybridge owns it nevermind Ivybridge and in April Haswell.
