I've beaten four out of the ten listed. With Shadows of the Damned as my favorite. I still want to play Binary Domain.

I would put FEAR 3 on that list.
FEAR is a highly underrated series.
I'd like to see Condemned 3 aswell.

I LOVE the FEAR series. FEAR 3 is a great game, but it totally lost its horror elements almost entirely. There were a few good horror based levels, but it was way more about action and gunplay. Like I said still a great game, but I enjoyed 2 and 1 a lot more in terms of horror.

Proud to say I've played and enjoyed Singularity and The Sabotuer. Activision really need to make a sequel Singularity. Btw, did anyone else play Timeshift? That was bloody well brilliant!

I'm between the two of you on Singularity ^^^^ and the dude below. I think that game had some serious flaws in terms of gameplay, AI, and the graphics (on console anyway) were pretty bad by this generations standards. But I think Singularity had a story and game mechanics, such as the abilty to "timewarp" enemies and certain materials.. that was especially cool in trying to solve various puzzle sections.

A flawed masterpiece IMO - big fun factor and interesting game mechanics, just not expertly executed like i would've liked.

The people that hate it seem to be the COD kids expecting COD. I tried selling it to COD kids several times and they don't play past the first level.

Singularity's story/plot twists were contrived, uninteresting and poorly thought out.

I have never played any of the CODs ever.

it's a good sandbox game (a la GTA formula) set in WWII era France. There are what seems like thousands of side objectives where you do stuff, find stuff or blow shiz up. It is really fun, but can get a bit repetitive if you seek out and do every little thing like I do. It really is one of the better GTA style games though. I enjoyed it more than Saint's Row or Mercenaries... I'd say it's about as good as Just Cause 2, only set in a different time and environment.

Binary Domain is awesome. I'm bummed out that no one seems to be playing it online as I think the horde mode could be great with four players. Right now I have to do with Mass Effect 3's MP, which is imo very underrated and a lot of fun.

Not trying to step on anyones feet here but I enjoyed Binary Domain a lot more than I enjoyed any of the Gears games. It had a much better story, incredible boss fights, and above all there was much more feedback when shooting enemies. Parts flying all over the place. It's like a perfect mix between Vanquish and Gears actually.

If you are going to try it out don't judge it by the demo on XBL. The full game is a much better experience and one that any shooter fan should give themselves. Oh, and Singularity is amazing too. Has a kind of Half-Life flair to it.

Enslaved and Shadows of the Damned are terrible terrible games that no one should have to suffer through.

Other than that I agree with the list for the most part.....except maybe Saboteur which is really BOOBS, the game.

Disagreed. Unlike RE4 or even 5, SOTD had more character freedom of movement. The ability to move while shooting. Virtually all modern TPS games have this. Even Dead Space despite not being able to evade.

SOTD was a mediocre shooter at best. You could argue it was "unique" in its universe, but that doesn tmean good.

And OMG the lame humor. There was one part you had to hold off the enemies and he just kept saying "take my big boner". I was like THIS is funny? No, its trying to hard to be edgy or cool.

@blonde - and maybe, just maybe, just as crazy, many of us did not like these low selling games.

As for the "translation", I was basically referring to how many gamers "gush" over unique games, many times overlooking basic quality issues. Poor writing, weak gameplay, etc often get overlooked as long as something is deemed "unique".

As for raunchy toilet humor, that is fine if you like that. I didn't. Low brow or toilet humor can be funny at times (see bulletstorm) but SOTD just seemed weak.

As you can have your opinion, I also have mine.

I agree. SOTD is great. I really liked how it doesnt take itself seriously and the gameplay was very good. Had a lot of fun with this one. It was also a challenging game, too bad it is short and there wont be a sequel, sadly.

Outside of Odyssey (which I never liked a NT game, they seem to have no idea how to make a proper combat experience) and SOTD (mediocre shooter, trying to hard dialogue and writing) I agree with several of these.

i guess if some of these games were advertised or prmoted more they would have hit bigger numbers. i reckon hitting nearly a million is not too bad. whats funy about this list tho is that probably most visitors on n4g have played a number of those games.

sotd had mediocre gamplay but the way the game went grindhouse style allowed idiotic things to happen which i didnt mind. it didnt really take itself seriously which gave it abit of style. maybe it was the makers of the game that actually made me enjoy the game more than i should have.

odyssey was a game that i was tempted to buy day one but cancelled on the last minute. i led nt because of heavenly sword and will probably buy dmc day one aswell. odyssey however just looked strange, maybe the idea that they bastardised/f**ked up journeybto the west. monkey/goku just didnt look likable at all.

Singularity is probably the easiest to like. Raven-solid shooting, with a dash of Half Life and Bioshock.

Enslaved is OK but I found it too be too drawn out.

The weakest on the list is IMO Saboteur. Not sure I'd recommand this one, really depends on your ability to overlook some severe design flaws.
The lack of fast travel and the simplistic stealth system killed it. On top of that, it's way short for an open world game.

Darkness II was a nice surprise. They took out most non linear aspects that made the first good, but it still manages to be quite immersive and emotional.

Binary Domain is OK but character development is uneven, and level design a bit bland.

Condemned 2 fleshed out the hand to hand combat of the first one well, with some nice combos, but the slightly forced gothic visuals were a bit too dark and mindnumbing at times.

Shadows of the Damned is so good. But only for a particular audience. I would also add Vanquish, Resonance of Fate, Valkyria Chronicles, Siren Blood Curse and Bayonetta which sold well but A LOT of people disregarded it as utter crap.

I've played Saboteur and it wasn't that great but Metro 2033 and Singularity are great, especially Metro 2033. Great graphics, great gameplay and really good atmosphere. Singularity was pretty damned good as well.

Funny thing is I have all them games minus the darkness 2. They are all brill and enjoyable games. Just seems these days if the box doesn't have call of duty on it the game is condemed. This is the problem condemed 2 was very good but the sales have killed any chance of a condemed 3. As for what the others are saying same with vanquish yakuza 3 and 4 and Valkyrie chronicles amazing games also just not shown the love. If anyone needs a heads up Valkyrie chronicles 2 on the PSP get it picked up.
