GTA 5 Release Date 'Has To Be Before March 31' - Pachter

It makes sense for it to come out before the end of March, mainly because we'll probably see the Xbox 720 and PS4 announced right after. You don't want your game flying under the radar because people are gearing up for new hardware.

Rockstar loves the May/June release. They learned a long time ago that there is a serious drought that time of year, and Max Payne along with RDR both came out around that time. I would guess it has a May or June release. Why release it in March with the other top games to fight with?

If you read the quotes, it's because Take Two has forecast crazy profits by year's end (March 31) - no GTA V, no crazy profits.

Yes, but they will not rush this game out to meet a deadline. I am not saying you don't have a valid point, but here are some things to remember.

1. Pachter really has no idea what he is talking about which I don't understand since its what he does for a living. He is so wrong so often that there are websites compiling his horrible predictions.

2. 4th quarter predictions are made based on Holiday sales. So with games like NBA 2K13 (Which is breaking sales records), Max Payne 3, and Bioshock Infinite all coming in before quarter end they do not need to ship GTA V to make those numbers.

3. I agree that shipping GTA V will give them big sales, However Rockstar will not release the game until it is finished. It is too big to release early based on sales targets for investors.

Again I am not saying you are wrong, but the source of the information is one mans opinion who is quite frankly, wrong more than he is right.

1. Pachter doesn't know for a fact what's going to happen - but just because he predicts something doesn't automatically mean it won't happen.

2. GTA V defies regular sales patterns - launch sales will be through the roof whenever it releases.

3. I agree R* won't ship until it's ready - but Take Two made these huge revenue predictions some time ago, so they must have had an idea it would launch in the next 12 months.

I for one hope it launches when it's good and ready and not before - but for all we know, it could be near completion already.

Would anybody find it weird if I said the main selling point for me, in regards to the Wii U, is wether or not GTA 5 will be released for it along with the others consoles?
