Five Games That Need Sequels

TGC writes: Sequels are a common practise in the gaming world – from yearly ventures in the Fifa and Call of Duty, to highly anticipated sequels that are drawn out over six or seven years. For example, the up and coming release of Hitman: Absolution or the even-longer-in-the-making GTA series.

However you look at these types of sequels – more often than not they bring something new and refreshing to the table that differs from the original, making them a standalone game in their own right (besides Call of Duty) and in this regard, here are five instances of games that certainly deserve, but have yet to merit second outings.

Both a Dead Island sequel and Alan Wake sequel are already in the works so why are they both in this article????

Godmars2904208d ago (Edited 4208d ago )

Writing an article to write. If Prey2 weren't in limbo there'd only be two valid titles.

@shadowwizard:
Would like to see something with more replayability. Playthroughs where the prime suspect is different.

The origami killer might be gone, but the rain still lurks in the shadows "DUMDUMDUUUUUUUUM" And it'll get ya >:D

lol jk But seriously, a sequel wouldn't work. Even with a different set of characters. Would just seem Idk weird. I'd much rather wait for Beyond: Two souls :b

Instead of a HR2, i hope Cage considers making Kara into a game.

I thought Heavy Rain was a sequel! Indigo Prophecy led to Heavy Rain.

mcstorm4208d ago

I really want to see an Alan Wake 2 as this has been one of my games of this gen. a Bullet storm 2 would be really good but ide like to see if have a MP mode in it to.
I don't think we will see a Heavy Rain 2 not because it was a bad game as it was far form that but I think it could be one of them games that is a one off game.
I could not get into Dead Island but I know a lot of people who like it and would love to see a 2nd game.
As for Prey ive never played it but sounds interesting so I might have a look at picking a copy up.

prince of persia 08, come on ubisoft how are you just gonna leave that cliffhanger ending and give us DLC with another cliffhanger ending, have a trophy/achievement that says to be continued and not make a sequel, i love AC but damn prince of persia fans want a sequel too.

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

Knightofelemia16h ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie7h ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie7h ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.

A thermos is upending the Alan Wake community

Remedy has Alan Wake merch on sale, including a pretty blue thermos. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone according to plan, and many players who want a thermos find themselves without one, though it does appear that Remedy is attempting to fix things. Nevertheless, it has resulted in a lot of upset, illustrating just how much the thermos means to Alan Wake fans.
