Project Crystallis: A Campaign for Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Type-0

oprainfall.com writes:

"Japanese company, Square Enix, is one of the most well-known video game development companies to date. Any RPG fan will know titles such as Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest. They are now even working on the Tomb Raider series. Final Fantasy has sold more than 100 million units, making it Square Enix’s bestselling franchise. It has also helped revolutionize the RPG genre for the gaming market outside of Japan. So, why are some fans so unhappy when the name Final Fantasy is mentioned? It’s partly because of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Type-0."

This should give them a big boost in support. I am kind of surprised that games media isn't picking up on this and talking about it like Operation Rainfall.

Kotaku talked about this sure but apart from them not many other sites have talked about Project Crystallis. And I think they should!

Yeah, from what I've heard Nomura WANTS to show the game off, but is being held back by SE for some reason or other.

Eamon4214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

Nomura WANTS to complete the game, but is being held back by SE because of their obsession with the FF13 series.

gaffyh4214d ago

The video is really well made, and I agree with it's message, but I don't see a campaign like this working. There just won't ever be enough support for it.

Carl_Shocker4215d ago

They should email some of the sites like IGN, Eurogamer, Destructoid (Get Jim to do a video on it or Gregg from IGN) because we all want this...

Qrphe4214d ago

Definitely, we could all tweet SE or make a hashtag for it.

This is another project to fix things at Square Enix:

couldn't agree more
even though i do enjoy the ff 13's i would happily trade them if the time spent on them would have been used for vs 13

"With no info"

these people are just impatient children, there is tons of info out on VS13 with a Demo from the actual game....just shut up and wait for them to finish it geez. As I was told growing up and I will tell my children, crying gets you no where and makes you looks like a fool.

Yeah I really wanna play VS13 so bad but I can wait until they feel like it's ready to be released.

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion1d ago (Edited 1d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled23h ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Yuji Naka guilty of insider trading breaks silence to accuse Square Enix producer of lies

Yuji Naka was fined $1.2 million and given a suspended jail sentence for the crime.

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle6d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger6d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag6d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.

Please o please don't turn dragon quest into final fantasy square enix we dont wont that. Dragon quest works well just as it I. Plus you'll piss off Japanese fans to.

jznrpg10d ago

Hopefully they don’t. From this it doesn’t sound like that is the case and development is just taking too long.
