Kojima Would Like The Metal Gear Series To Continue For 25 Years

During his hugely anticipated developer session at the Eurogamer Expo just now, Metal Gear designer Hideo Kojima has said that he’d like to pass the baton on, eventually, and have the series continue for another 25 years.

Nah try something new. Kojima talks a lot of crap about Japanese devs, but all he really is known for is the metal gear franchise. A franchise I've grown tired of to be honest. I can careless about the clones, and wmd's and a cyborg ninja and who raided father is, how old is snake, really how long can they milk this for? It's still big in Japan (Asia) but I feel its popularity is waning in the west. I feel (even though he stated otherwise many times), that he's doing this to stay relevant, he really has nothing else (outside of some other small hits in Asia). He keeps saying he wont do another metal gear solid game, but then he goes and makes one anyways. We are yet to hear anything new from him. I know he did make a new game about big breasted anime girls in skimpy outfits shooting at ships (a shmup I believe they're called), but it might have been kanomi's doing but he was mentioned.

I dont, things have to die sometimes, what are they gonna do, go back and remake everything? then remake them all....AGAIN in 2030, or maybe next, we'll see a robot Snake (like what Raiden is now) in some sort of game on the PS6

Its like Breaking Bad for example, i LOVE the series, i really do, but, im glad i know its going to finish

Kojimas most likely doing it for the money at this point. I believe he said that Snake Eater was going to be his last one...yet look where we are now.

I feel the same way. Mgs is my favorite franchise, but I want it to finish strong, not drag out until it dies on life support.

Whether we still see MGS games in 2050 or the franchise gets scrapped all together, its all the same to me...so long as Kojima also creates some new IPs along the way.

Rising is PlatinumGames. And I think Rising is pretty good. Check the TGS trailer. :D

Well at least there is plenty of history, past and present to look into for the series to continue on...

But thats at least 4 more MG games on top of MGS5 and even after MG:Ground Zeroes...Kojima really went the other way on his retirement speech.

Plus, they just opened a California studio...so...I'm sure development won't take as long per game.
