The odd texture and light source seems to be slightly weaker in some of the PS3 shots but other than that they look the same.

Abash4228d ago

The coloring and sharpness of the PS3 version makes me want to get it on PS3, textures look the same to me though

SilentNegotiator4228d ago (Edited 4228d ago )

The ps3 version looks fuzzy on its Resident Evil-ness, and the 360 version looks like it has a lot of aliasing on its classic gameplay.

Army_of_Darkness4228d ago (Edited 4228d ago )

But truth be told, I'm more interested in game performance. Consistant frame rate to No/ or very minimal screen tearing would be great.

knowyourstuff4228d ago

How can everyone be so stupid?

It's simple - the aliasing is identical.
Shadows are more pronounced on PS3, and textures are more pronounced, just look down the stairs, and if you have a brain it will be obvious.

I've seen the 360 version and there's a ton of screen tearing it's horrible.

The PS3 is v-locked, no screen tearing that you will ever notice.

Make your own conclusions if you have both consoles and both demos (if you don't have both consoles then stop griping, as these comparisons will mean nothing to you).

Blacktric4228d ago

Both look horrible and looks nothing like the earlier footage they released after game's announcement. Classic Crapcom.

black9114228d ago

First Borderlands 2 Now RE6. It must be 2012 if the PS3 Version is superior. (Like IT Should Be)

LOL PC is the way to go.. Lets stop comparing consoles already. If you really care about graphics get a PC or shut up already. I been playing all the latest games at full 1080p for years now. I missed a few exclusives but have both consoles for those. PC and STEAM are my favourite option though out of my PS3, 360 and PC.

How do you know there's a PC gamer in the crowd? Talk about graphics and they'll make themselves known!

Welshy4228d ago

I was contemplating a 360 purchase on this for the early DLC, but judging by this source, the PS3 contrast is better, textures look sharper and more detailed, and the colours are more vibtant too.

Looking at other comparisons the difference seems to be universal and not "swapped 360 for PS3" screens that fanboys are barking about for some reason =S

Even at that, at the end of the day, i'm just plain ol' excited for this to come out now, negligible differences once you're actually sitting playing it and DLC being slightly earlier on one platform is hardly a huge deal.

Loved Resi 5 despite the hate, and i'm sure i'm gonna have a blast with this too playing coop with my buddy like we did in 2008 with Resi 5 =)

OmegaSlayer4228d ago

Did anyone thought that the demo has low quality texture because of the dimension of the file? There's a lot of stuff and it's only around 850 MB

neogeo4228d ago

If you look you can see the WiiU verison has better shadows and lighting. Also better color and less jaggies. I say WiiU wins this round:)

hehe we will be soon seeing a lot of these. I'm excited to have new system in the graphics whore game.

zeddy4228d ago

pretty close but ps3 version looks better.

Mutant-Spud4228d ago

The demo made me want to barf with all the wild camera movement but I thought it looked pretty good on 360.

i have never trusted lens of turth, sure i am a ps3 fan and i should be happy about the ps3 version being the "best" version. but lot are way too shady and lie too much on there comparisons. does anyone remember the mass effect 2 debate? it was obvious the ps3 version was the best...BIOWARE SAID IT! . so someones lying, and when i put in some of my game that they supposedly told me was the inferior version, it turned out to the the exact same thing.

Does Euogamer lie too?

Most times now both versions are very similar. It's nothing to really worry about and developers are much more used to the PS3. In this comparison it looks as though the PS3 version is sharper. The XBOX360 seems to look granier and the bloom lighting appears better on the PS3. How the game runs is more interesting to me so we'll see.

NastyLeftHook04228d ago

eurogamer does not use advanced adaptive luma set to full on the ps3 games (its set to limited) hence the washed out look, and before you start going off about them confirming they do use full rgb they dont. i have seen it with my own eyes and INFACT have proof why most ps3 versions looked washed out, its a lie.

@ tentonsoftube

Because what's on Youtube is truth right? Now prove what is being shown on those youtube links is factual.

All I see is still pics with either 360 or PS3 up in the corner. Prove to me that they are properly labeled. Prove to me that FULL RBG was used.

You can't. Yet you are so eager to disbelieve what LoT say and would rather believe what some random youtube poster puts as truth without them showing you the set up.

In the 2nd video where is the proof that the screen on the left is ME2 on RGB and NOT a 360 clip.

You are just choosing to believe what you want to believe rather than thinking logically about it.

BrutallyBlunt4228d ago (Edited 4228d ago )

Way to neglect the most important aspect, the performance. Which Eurogamer does a complete analysis of. But then again you're the one who tells people Sony never has timed exclusives, just Microsoft. So obviously you have an agenda in the first place. I guess when you only see what you want to see things appear different.

STONEY44228d ago (Edited 4228d ago )

Full RGB shouldn't even be used unless you're using a monitor. That's what that setting is meant for, since monitors use colors differently. On TV's, it ends up crushing the blacks. You can see what I mean if you have a picture that has dark shadows, but still should have visible details. On a TV with Full RGB, it will turn pure black. On a monitor, the details stay.

The "washed out look" is much less apparent on an actual TV then it is in screenshots. The 360 has it's Full RGB equivalent forced into the hardware, so it's always going to give the impression the PS3 is washed out in comparison.

I feel like facepalming whenever people bring the "washed out" thing up in an argument, at both sides. It doesn't matter at all.

I get the impression that you don't recalibrate your display after you enable full range colour. My samsung hdtv looks so much better with full range on. I highly recommend proper display calibration.

ME2 came out on PS3 much later than the PC/360 versions on the updated ME3 engine LOL

There Will Never Be Another Resident Evil 6 (And That Sucks)

A rough gem that may never get the proper treatment it deserves.

Terry_B398d ago

^^ I don't want what the author was smoking.

-Foxtrot398d ago

It’s this thing where after enough time people start coming out to defend bad games for some strange reason

I mean hey if you liked it good for you but it was a f****** awful RE game.

Capcom are finally back on track and now people are crying about their shitty mistakes? No thanks.

RpgSama396d ago

I'd take a full blown remake of RE6 based around a GREATLY expanded Leon part and make it even more horror.

That might be something I would be interested in, do not care about any of the other parts of that game.

MadLad396d ago

I couldn't even get through the demo.
Years later I bought it for $3 for PC. I played about 5 minutes into it and uninstalled it.

babadivad396d ago (Edited 396d ago )

RE6 was better than 5. RE6 just took the series to the conclusion that started with 4.

RE4 was the inaugural title in the action game trilogy.

RE9 will be the likely end of the first person psychological thriller trilogy.

They'll switch it up for RE10 or more likely titled RE-X.

hotnickles396d ago

5 is vastly better than 6 imo

TheEnigma313396d ago

RE5 is way better than 6. Stop lying to yourself

FallenAngel1984398d ago (Edited 398d ago )

“But all this is solely with respect to how fans felt back in 2013 when Resident Evil 6 had just been released. The game resulted in the series getting indefinitely killed off until 5 years later when we got Resident Evil 7 and balance was restored yet again. ”

1.) Resident Evil 6 came out in 2012, not 2013

2.) A series getting killed off means no titles at all released in a time period. Silent Hill, Dead Space, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve & Siren fans would love to see how you can say RE was on the same level of dormancy. In that 5 year time period we had a number of remasters that kept the series alive and kicking. RE1 02ms remaster even broke sales records during the period between RE6 and RE7.

3. Way to disrespect Resident Evil: Revelations 2. It was released during that RE6-RE7 period. It along with its predecessor were mainline titles that kept the horror roots of the series alive in comparison to RE5 and RE6. RE: R1 in particular even introduced the ability to walk and shoot into the series, a feature we can all be grateful for that in modern RE titles. The director RE: R1 later went on to direct RE7 and the director of RE: R2 later went to to direct the RE2 & RE4 remakes.

Immagaiden398d ago (Edited 398d ago )

“Resident Evil 6 is often maligned as the worst entry in the Resident Evil series and is cited as the cause behind the long death of the franchise.”

Titles in the Resident Evil series such as Survivor, Gaiden, Dead Aim, Outbreak, Operation Raccoon City, Umbrella Corps, & Resistance we’re received far worse than RE6.

And death of the franchise?

RE6 was still one of the most commercially successful games in the series, guaranteeing the franchise’s future. Compare how underwhelming sales of Dead Space 3, Silent Hill: Downpour. Alone in the Dark: Illumination, Dino Crisis 3, Fatal Frame: Maiden in Black Water, Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2, and Metroid: Other M which caused their respective series to go into a long period of dormancy without any rereleases to even keep activity up.

RE however still had a significant number of titles released and rereleased after RE6. Not only that but development for RE7 started a short time after its predecessor came out, meaning there was never a development time that the series could be considered dead. There hasn’t been a single year that Capcom stopped either developing, releasing, or rereleasing Resident Evil games. Let’s not act like the 5 year period between RE6 and RE7 is such a longer time compared to the 4 year period between RE4 and RE5 as well as RE7 and RE8. We can pretty much expect RE9 in either 2025 or 2026, and you can be certain that Capcom will still release other RE tiles leading up to it

TheEnigma313396d ago (Edited 396d ago )

Man go some where with this. Only a few like this game. Why would they remake a garbage game no one likes risking money because it won't sell? RE 6 is dumpster drippings, sorry.

MIDGETonSTILTS17396d ago

It wasn’t that good, even if you enjoyed it like me.
