Several new details have been revealed regarding the new “full-on beta build” of the upcoming multiplatform fighting game, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale.
While Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale didn't get the best review, there are still some aspects of the game that deserve some credit.
Though PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is a bit of a cult classic, it could have been a big hit if it launched in 2022 instead of 2012.
It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.
Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?
It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.
I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.
I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.
Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.
God of War: Ragnarok has plenty of fun references to PlayStation history, but now fans have discovered a conversation that calls back to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale — the crossover fighting game released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
The problem with PSASB is how sony is marketing it like Super Smash Bros, which wouldn't be a problem if Sony had more different genres/styles of games this gen. The Wii had games set in unrealistic, fantasy worlds that although some could regard as "kiddish", were still good and overall help SSBB, because unlike the PS3, Wii had some games that weren't trying to hard to be realistic (because of the inferior graphics), so it fit better.
Because PS3 lacked that this gen, it doesn't feel right knowing that they're trying to create a game like this since their exclusive titles often either A)where in the same genre, or B)had the exact same realistic (which is okay) but sometimes repetitive, boring, stale feel to them.
EVERYONE, HOW do edit my comment, I didn't really type it well to be honest. I didn't mean to say heavy rain plays like killzone or anything, but rather, they all have that same, dark realistic feel sort of.
I played the closed beta a couple of times, it was really interesting and varied in the characters and if i remember correctly there were ony 5 or 6, i always used sweet tooth or fat princess, lol baby got BACK!
This would've been good if they didn't have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for characters and then use the game just to advertise games for 3rd party characters. It's still missing a ton of staple characters like Crash, Lara, Spyro, Cloud, Solid Snake, Kazuma, Raziel, & more.
