Metal Gear is financially way more successful than ZOE.

Whitefeather4242d ago

Yup and more popular and more well known. I was just showing that I didn't even need to think about it, it's simple. There are many reasons.

crxss4242d ago

why ask why another metal gear and not zoe3?

Irishguy954242d ago

People ask for both crXss. Simple as that, there is no reason to question anything here

How many people honestly cares that much about ZOE? It's alright, but MGS is way more popular especially since the amazing Peace Walker came out. That game changed MGS in such a profound way that it changed the genre for the better.

I hope that with the Fox Engine's efficiency, Kojima can make more games faster (such as a new ZOE, a new Snatcher game/remake; and possibly even direct a new Silent Hill (which Kojima has shown interest in).

Kenshin_BATT0USAI4242d ago

They already announced a new ZoE, that's why?

Nate-Dog4242d ago

I wonder sometimes why people even ask questions as if they're that interested but they miss things like this. I mean a ZOE HD Collection and a new ZOE game were announced just a few months ago as you say. -__-

It's not a question of why even make another Metal Gear. It's deeper than that! In a industry where many gamers(probably even some in this very thread) despise franchises like COD and Madden for pumping out different iterations of the same title. Why would konami and Kojima pro. release a trailer announcing a new MGS title before exploring something new!

Kenshin_BATT0USAI4241d ago

@Agent Smith

Well there's a huge difference between COD Madden, and MGS.

With CoD, it's rehashed every time, with miminal improvements. It's not very story driven either so everything relies on it's addictive gameplay.

In Madden's case. There's not much they can do with the game, improved graphics, add a few bells and whistles. Otherwise, they can't change the game because it's about the actual sport. So it has to play like how you watch it.

In MGS's case, it's HEAVILY story driven. People like it for the story and uniqueness. We don't have a crap load of stealth games. Nor do we have many games these days that are about the story. Hence why MGS is welcomed. Also it's not like there's a new one every year. We're lucky to get 1 every 2 or so years.

Id like a new ZOE, but having seen the new Metal Gear its hard to say I dont want it.

I’d have taken a few of those out. Prefer Sonic over Sonic 2. Outrun should be in there. Maybe even Pong as millions of people had fun with that even if it was repetitive. Final Fight pipped any Streets of Rage game, although Streets of Rage had the better soundtrack. Too many to list l guess. To me, retro gaming is the 1980s, maybe going into early 1990s.

Popsicle35d ago

Agree that the generational gap is too broad to really make a strong list. Need to tighten the years a bit. Hard to compare Pac Man with N64 games.

Gee, I wonder if there were any contemporaneous issues internally while the game was being made?

Nah, couldn't be. Game was released exactly as intended.

Samonuske81d ago

And regardless of its issues, it still had arguably the best gameplay in the series.

mkis00781d ago

The gameplay was amazing, coming from one who didn't play any of them until 4

Yui_Suzumiya81d ago

MGS ended with 4 for me. I want Hideo Kojima to get the Snatcher IP from Konami so there can be a remastered release and a sequel.

mkis00781d ago

Well 4 is technically the last in sequence right?

Chocoburger81d ago

@mkis007

Unless if you want to count Revengeance, which I started a new playthrough of recently, and damn is it still fun.

CDbiggen80d ago (Edited 80d ago )

Yeah it was, he didn't want to keep making MGS and it showed. Even if he was given the time by konami to finish it, what was there was already so weak that it's hard to see what could've salvaged it. The gameplay was quality no doubt. I still cringe at the characters and story though and the jeep scene.
