This week's issue of Famitsu reveals that Inafune is making a zombie game titled "YAIBA".
The Games Cabin Writes:
"Looking nowadays at the widespread popularity and unparalleled global success of the Japanese anime franchise Kimetsu no Yaiba , it was not very surprising that it would receive its own video game adaption in the form of a battle arena fighting game that highlights the splendor of the original story scenes and their outstanding impact on the animation industry."
Waiting to beat Tales if Arise and then I’ll start this . I’ll work on Tales plat while switching to Demon Slayer when I’m ready to take a break.
TGH's Vaughn writes: Set to release early next year, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z was announced late last year and other than a gameplay trailer here and there, things have remained rather quiet around this zombie slaying action title from the genius that brought the world both the Mega Man and Resident Evil series.
At this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, I sat down with Yaiba creator Keiji Inafune and Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi to discuss how Ryu Hayabusa winds his way into the story. I also got a chance to ask about the possible future for the series and why Yabia isn’t just another entry into the Ninja Gaiden series.
Excited for this game. Great interview and interesting that they MIGHT bring it to next-gen. Art style is perfect for the Vita.
GameZone writes, "In the interview with Keiji Inafune (famed mastermind behind Mega Man), we got a chance to ask what the future holds for Yaiba, and whether there are any possible sequels in store. This is what he had to say."
Sigh... Another zombie game. I like his games but he seriously needs to think of something else.
Not to insult, but what are the chances a Japanese dev is going to come up with the open world survival/never enough ammo world that the genre needs?
so he left capcom in order to make another zombie game? interesting..
Easter Egg: An undead Volnutt look-alike eating an obese mascot for the town nicknamed "Laser Guy". The protagonist walks in causing the zombie to break through a wall to escape. He or she then looks at the corpse left behind with the words "Legends" written with his fingertips on the ground then shouts "Oh my GAWD! He's drawn so badly!!!!!"......
