The resident evil series died long ago with Resident Evil 4. For me it died with Resident Evil Zero. I preferred the SURVIVAL HORROR games that they used to make. They were actually scary and forced you to focus on your survival. Saving ammo, scavenging for puzzle pieces to reach your next objective etc. WE WILL NEVER GET THE OLD RESIDENT EVIL BACK SO LONG AS THEY CAN RAKE IN MONEY BEING DOUCEBAGS MAKING THESE COD EMULATORS. I don't know if I even want it back after the things they've done.

For the love of god, go play Darksiders 2 instead of this. They made an amazing game that deserves more than 250,000 sales in the US. It also was not without it's controversy, but it's a gamer's game made by gamers for gamers. It wasn't rushed out and it was genuinely awesome and full of content. I've easily gotten around 60 hours of play out of it with New Game Plus, trading items with friends to stack my stats and playing the more challenging difficulty.

Or whatever... buy it. I'm kinda distancing myself from gaming. At least i'm trying to... Old habits die hard. It takes a serious, concerted effort to make a change whether it be personal, within a company or as a country. Human nature is to follow the path of least resistance. We all do it. Sometimes it takes a serious disaster to light the fire. I can only hope for the sake of anyone who never played the original resident evils that RE6 will be that disaster.

I think it'll sell pretty well though. Most gamers don't care enough to read about development or the legacy of a series. Operation Raccoon City proved it.

It has already been acknowledged that things are going to improve regardless of who gets elected, but they're not going to be great. We have a lot of concessions to make to pay off Bush's debt as well as the debt Obama took on in order to keep the system from completely collapsing.

Apart from the whole employee issue did anyone else think the demo was really really bad?
it was like an on rails shooter and the weapons seemed to have no punch to them at all and they had some weird assist setting on them so you can't use precision to shoot pacific body parts.
Not to mention the awful camera view of the protagonist.
Chris took up half of the screen with his giant arms and I could barely see where I was going.
Anyway I thought it was really boring and even worse than RE5,the graphics looked nice but that was about it.
Will wait for the reviews I think.

No, I've never played an old school Resident Evil game (unless you count re4 as one, but I'm pretty sure you don't), but I'm not 16, I'm 21.

I didn't have any previous expectations from previous games, which is why I was able to enjoy it. As a standalone game, it's not a bad game. As a Resident Evil game it's probably terrible, but if you go into it without expecting a horror experience or expecting it to be anything like previous RE games, it's a really fun co-op game.

But nice try with the generalization. How is making baseless claims and assumptions on people you know absolutely nothing about working out for you?

Well I'm 33 and I HAVE played and loved the "old school" resi-games. resident evil 1 for the Ps was the reason I switched to playstation from Nintendo. It is probably top 3 of my favourite games ever. And I couldn't agree more with vickers500. playing through re5 5 in co-op with a buddy of mine is probably among the most fun i've had this generation. Don't do the generalisation thing. It's an unfair work environment, not a slave camp. When a game tanks they don't go downstairs and beat the help, they have shareholders to answer to. Also, I am iffed by this game, The Last Of Us looks like more a survival horror game than RE6. They are ultimately making 3 different games from what I've read. They are making a supposed survival horror section, a 3rd person shooter oriented section, & a mesh up of both section.
Wow Capcom, I'm sold.....I'm all for getting broken messes of games (I bought RE:ORC for instance), I'm so enthused for this game.......NOT.

Just make the damn game as good as Resident Evil 2 on PS1.....I care not what anyone says, NO RE game has come close to being as brilliant, & innovative as that game is, & that goes for that overated RE4 too.....Friggin RE4 may as well have been a totally different franchise, as apart from a couple of characters & such, it had no coomon ground with the RE series of PS1 fame.

Capcom, you f$#king idiots, give me back RE, the way it's supposed to be & feel, you've lost ALL atmosphere in the RE titles now (I will pay RE4 for being the last to have some kind of atmoshere, but it just wasn't RE atmosphere).

We don't want a broken up into 3 pieces mess of a game, we want a single feeling, unified, RE evil game. I mean, the true RE fans have been screaming since RE4 took them off course, for a traditional RE game.....a return to series roots, a throwback to what made the series popular. But instead were getting something we don't want again out of Capcom, as the d1ckhead suits are trying to bundle the true RE fans up with 3rd person shooter fans. Capcom, people don't want RE as a 3rd person shooter experience, cause frankly there are a dozen developers that make far better 3rd person shooter experiences than you clowns. It looks like your better off buying/playing a copy of Dead Rising to get at least a small taste of what a RE game should be like, as the DR games are now closer to a true RE experience, than an actual modern RE game can deliver.

There seems to be a misunderstanding in the article. Gamers shape the industry by choosing one game, or rather one company over the other? That's plain naive. First off, don't compare Asian companies to western ones. That absolutely doesn't work. Their mentality is completely different, their economic situation is completely different. Can you name one top Asian company that doesn't treat its employees like animals? (From our point of view that is)

This isn't really "news" for me sorta say, because the eastern game companies/publishers treat there staff horribly. But Capcom hit a new low. Strict management. the younger or newer talent have no say in ideas, suggestions, purpose(besides there duties) or say in anything really. New talent is just there for the work load. And seniority is BEYOND practiced like crazy over there.

Which is probably why eastern games seem outdated in there overall quality of games. Why you ask? Because they've been using the same formula in expertise for the past 15 or so years. In terms of graphics and overall presentation.

In that Kotaku article Capcom doesn't comment because it's an ongoing litigation due to the employee taking Capcom to court.

Kind of hard to call it hearsay when the employees all seem to be saying the same thing and company has neither denied these claims nor refuted them.

I would like to point out something though, the writer says this:

Shareholders will be the main cause of the next video game industry crash which could happen in the near future. And the ceo's in charge of these video game companies don't have the balls to be a boss & talk some common sense into these shareholders by telling the shareholders how it is or will be in order to rake in good profits over time, & also the consequences in the piss poor courses that some of these video game companies are doing in the name of shareholder greed.

The main problem with this video game industry is greed, and also the fact that shareholders are trying to run an industry(the video game industry) where they know little to barely anything about except that it once was a lucrative business to invest in before they started to dictate what a video game company can and can't do.

Anyone remember what caused the video game industry crash of 1982-1983. I will tell you: due to video games becoming really popular back during that time a lot of people jumped on that band wagon in hopes to make a lot of profits during that time, as the greed increased poor business decisions were made which resulted in a massive influx of poor quality mediocre rushed to market gaming software and hardware that was being released in droves. This in turn saturated the video game market to the point where consumers lost interest(due to many clones of other games, and poor quality in software & hardware).

It looks like history might repeat itself if these scumbag shareholders continue their dictatorial tirade and don't get their head out of their greedy ignorant egotistical butt's. And the boss's of these piss poor video game companies better grow a set of balls and stop graveling to every shareholders whims that include unrealistic circumstances/expectations.

And they also better stop biting the hands(employees/developers) that feed them because if they continue the current destructive course that some companies are pursuing(capcom is one of them) not only will the rug come out from under them but also the whole foundation will also come out from under them with a very slim chance(at best) of recovery.

And Activision are the same pieces of crap to there employees, as well as there customers with all the dlc BS. I mean, heres a company that instead of just giving you all the completed multiplayer maps when a new one is made.....the dirty f$#k suits, just tell there workers to pull 3-4 of the maps & sell them for 21 f%$king $$$ 90 f%#king 5 cents a few weeks after initial disk hits retail.

There are many morons in the gaming world that keep buying the same rehashed sh1t, or terrible licensed games (& contrary to some beliefs on here, NOT JUST KIDS), peope are buying there 4th-5th & 6th iterations of the Fifa's, Madden's, COD's, BF's, AC's, & Tom Clancy dross, over awesome games, whether new IP's, or existing IP's having another shot at some kind of glory. I mean, look at the dumbasses that bought 50cent on PS2, over Ico, BG&E, SOTC, or Okami....developers die off, because of idiots making idiotic choices. I mean, it's there money & there choice, but I remember when I was a kid, I would sometimes rent a film, or buy a game based off the front cover, & a couple of spruced up back cover shots. This is a harsh reality and that Capcom cannot refute, the proof of this is in this very game, over 600 developers worked on this "one" game. This gen we see the cruelty of publishers and Capcom is definitely one of the worse. Their plan to split development teams into 100 man divisions is utterly stupid. They do this, in hopes of developing sequels at the same time (I think it's more accurate to say it's, more along the lines of developing a sequel to successful franchises, case in point RE:6) The fact of the matter is, this game was rushed, and the results of that can be seen in any gameplay seen. The majority of those who play RE, only care about the game, they could care less about Capcom's work ethics. One other thing to note, writing Capcom USA, is pointless, Capcom Japan is the HQ for Capcom, it's USA counterpart, is nothing more than a subsidiary, whose only job is localizing games for NA. It's a parent (CapcomJP) and child (CapcomUSA) relationship, you should know how that works.
