WWE 13: Why You Should Already Have Buyer’s Remorse Thanks to E3 2013

The build up to the release of WWE 13 has been a roller coaster of emotional highs and lows, but after Senior Producer Arnaud Frey made an announcement of new games on next gen consoles, should we regret our pre-order purchases?

If you are a WWE fan you should not have buyers remorse, this is the games at least for me i have been waiting for as long as they things some new match types either in DLC or already in the game. THQ already has my money for purchase. Just wish The collectors was offered in Gamestop so i can get it same day. This game looks really good from what i have seen so far. Cant wait to get my hands on it.

You know. I know THQ is trying to follow the EA/Madden pattern of an annual game, but apart from roster changes, these games generally do not improve. Minor cosmetic changes do not make up for the fact that movement is robotic and not fluid. Entrances don't match what fans know and love. It's hard for me to justify that price tag, knowing that in a few months it will be a bargain bin item.

Well said. I think Vinny Mac and Co. like to think of themselves as a mainstream "sport," ergo they want to keep up w/ their competition and put out a product every year. But if you don't make continued progress, the fans will rip it apart.

krazykombatant4249d ago

I really don't understand why people buy this game, let alone the fact that there seems to always be a topic about this game on the front page every week.

the old wwf raw is war entrance and old wwf superstars is the only reason im getting this idk if its the same as last year because it wont wwe '12 didn't have Attitude era

That's a bit contradictory coming from a dude with the Skyrim logo as his avatar.

Are Wrestling Games Getting Worse?

Some of you may know that the latest instalment in the WWE gaming franchise 2K20 was released late last year to generally poor reviews. Some of this was based on graphical issues, but mostly it was due to the many glitches and bugs found – many of which are hilarious to witness.

Fire Pro needs more love. The last PS4 title gets regular playtime from me.

I hear that there are financial troubles at the studio, but I'm hopeful for a Switch port one of these days.

The Wood1552d ago

Anyone remember Giant Gram Wrestling on the Dreamcast .....

Rambokind1552d ago

Ah hell yes! That was loads of fun.

Acecalibur1553d ago

Fire Pro just gets better. Buy it.

micdagoat191553d ago

I have Fire Pro for PS4 and PC but it seems more of like a Sim creator rather than people actually playing out matches. I still dont like anything as much as the N64 games

b163o11552d ago (Edited 1552d ago )

Golden Era of wrestling games in the Golden Era of wrestling. I've been contemplating going back and getting a N64 and getting those classic's
WWF Wrestlemania 2000
WWF No Mercy
WCW vs. nWo Revenge

micdagoat191549d ago

Yeah its the only wrestling games I still play consistently for fun.

TheTony3161553d ago

Yes. The last great wrestling game was svr 2006.

addictedtochaos1552d ago

Yes, the WWE ones at least. The last good one was 2K14 and the last great one was Here Comes the Pain.

Thq and AKI stopped making the games. The N64 games were the best

fad6323003d ago

couldn't agree more, think it was No Mercy which i liked the best, although I remember the WCW NWO game being very good also.

In its current carnation it will never top the N64 games

3-4-53002d ago

WWE 12 was the last good wrestling game.

WeAreLegion3003d ago

I'll tell you where they went right. WWE All-Stars freakin' rules.

Ruggadagod3003d ago

You can obviously tell they got lazy.

showtimefolks3003d ago (Edited 3003d ago )

IMO the story aspects became the worst. the universe mode isn't as good as the GM mode(imo)

commentary is really bad
enemy ai isn't good neither is hit detection

instead of putting effort into single player story all we have gotten are past glory moments. i mean we are basically watching replays of old matches

i am surprised we didn't get a true wwe vs wcw game

the one wwe game few years ago with wcw story line was good(i had fun with story mode atleast)

here comes the pain
shut your mouth
day of reckoning
no mercy

are some of the best wwe wrestling games

vanity293003d ago

all these years and no real ragdoll physics to make selling moves look different either. 2k15 and 16 have like halfassed ragdoll.

nevin13003d ago

It's funny how you mentioned modern games problem being story related.

But then mentioned

here comes the pain
shut your mouth
day of reckoning
no mercy

HCTP, SYM and No Mercy was cherished by its gameplay.

Its seems alot of people these days are more interested in stories in videogames then the actual game. Gameplay should be number 1.

roxette923003d ago

wwe 2k14 was the last great release gameplay wise. wwe 2k16 still has the annoying chain grappling.

showtimefolks3002d ago

nevin1

they could have a bad story but still a original story. these past wwe games have moments from past like 30 years of wrestlemania and attitude era

i rather just get original stories and that's just my personal opinion
