The rented servers are the reason I don't play this as much. Sometimes I don't want to play Firestorm 24/7 with 8 million tickets. I might play more now.

I dont like that certian maps are super common, and some are never played. I cant remember last time i played sharqi penInsula.

*Searches "DICE" finds 50 rented servers with the word "DICE" in it, shuts off game again*

Just click the server, it should say admin: DICE. Then favorite it. I have no problem finding official servers.

I rather not bother. I favorite an official one and it ends up full all the time.

Decide "whatever ill just play on a rented one" and it almost always has messed up "can't be better than me!" rules, or lopsided teams....

I went from literally playing BF3 almost 24/7 (pushing my limits on sleep for the day) to not touching it at all after they added rented servers. Not immediately, because it wasn't "that" bad at first, but then it just started sucking.

What system are you playing on? I generally play on 360, and I have no time finding an official server. Also, if you need to find a rented server try searching "normal" "classic" or "vanilla".

It's really annoying that we have to do this. DICE should make finding a "normal" BF3 match without any BS easier, but hopefully these tips work out for you.

PS3, just tired of "searching" to find a game. Eventually the game will get ruined by "elite" jet people that do nothing to help the team other than kill people at spawn points, so I want to leave and have to find another server.

If DICE would just put Official Servers ONLY mode in quick search, then I'd gladly go back. Till then I'm honestly on the verge of trading the game in.

I heard the reason they are doing it is because game server rentals are dying off. If they die off more i could see a sale or price reduction.

But they at least should introduce a way to sort it properly. Yes, you can use Search but there are plenty of 'DICE Classic Server' which are not official.

Whether it comes through remakes or a new game with a similar style, DICE should aim to revive the glory days of Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2.

DICE have already stated that they actually don't know how to. They literally have no idea what made BC2 so good and clearly have no idea how to repeat it.

Which is so ignorant it almost physically hurts.

They have the damn templates lol. Everyone LOVED Battlefield all the way up through BF4. Everything after BF4 is where fans started getting divided because they started dumbing down the gameplay.

So they need to go back to the favorites. Bad Company 2. BF3 and BF4.

Take those games. Take the exact same gameplay. Update the graphics. Add some different game modes. Make new maps. Add new guns. Choose two armies. And make a single player campaign.

That's seriously it. They need to quit trying to make BF something it isn't. They have everything they need. Why they can't figure this out just hurts my brain trying to understand.

BF3? They need to go back to BF2 for the mainline. Heck, I'd settle for true-to-source remakes of BF2 and BC2 (w/ Vietnam). Everything they've done in the 'modern' era is just bad.

I've not played 2042 myself but after v I don't feel like it. I played a few hours of v with friends but it feels ultra sterile I can't figure it out but the game looks and feels clinical. The storys in the campaign were also bland and uninteresting and felt like a dull trudge through checkpoints as you waited for an ending.

I've played the franchise dating back to it's original PC launch and PS2 spin off games I did enjoy 1 overall and it's take on placing you in different scenarios and battles was interesting but not all that good imo as you couldn't really connect with any characters longer than 2 hours.

hardline for all the hate it recived was a fun story and a new take but a bad mp game

I feel like v overall was the turning point and instead of showing the gritty reality of war they turned everything sterile and presented it in a clean cut boring frame in order to pump it full of weird micro transactions overall they spent far to much time on trying to implant ray tracing and other graphical flourishes and forgot to make the game enjoyable
