Funny game, ZombiU. Not funny ha ha, obviously - although we did have to stifle a giggle when a pop-up zombie made one of our grandiloquent chums at Edge Magazine do a shriek in his mouth - but funny in how it goes about getting the most from Wii U.
As a brand-sparkling new IP from Ubisoft (if you ignore the 1986 Amstrad CPC adventure game Zombi, natch), ZombiU has invited inevitable comparisons with Red Steel, which was seen as Wii's great hardcore hope during its own launch window period back in 2006." writes ComputerAndVideoGames.
HPP's Josh crafts an unholy list of the Top 8 Spooky Games In Need a Sequel That Originated on Nintendo Platforms. From old to new, a gory list to dream about.
The title says the criteria was explicitly written to mention Eternal Darkness. I am happy to see House of the Dead: OVERKILL on here. With the rise of Grindhouse themes in the 2010s, (ie WET), this was one that was both entertaining and camp funny.
Would be nice to see a new Zombie game set in the UK again, some of the landmarks, old architecture and the like really fits in well with the genre.
Neil writes: "It's been a strange few weeks in the gaming world, with Triple-A releases continuing to be pushed back, allowing for the indie game scene to rule the roost. But if you're one of those players who are struggling to find games to play then the Xbox Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale is back to ensure that backlog of gaming experiences continues to grow. But what Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles are on sale during the week of 23rd-29th June 2020?"
London's a fantastic city, so it's no wonder it's featured in so many games. Here are 10 of the best video game representations of England's capital.
No thank you Gamespew. Not flipping through single pages of ads.
Also speaking of London, I'm pretty pumped for BLOOD AND TRUTH on PSVR
I have to chuckle at how they use the awkwardness of the controller, to say it's an extra gaming mechanic.
"Oh, well that just makes it scarier"
I have another way of doing the same thing:
look at your feet for 10-20 seconds, then look back up.
There, now you've created a self-imposing challenge.
I haven't seen one compelling gameplay video for this game... Seems like the WiiUs RedSteel.
Not excited at all for this (sounds like its short and i dont want an unbeatable game). I figured it was hyped because its a "core" title that people didnt expect on the wii-u for whatever reason (the wii had dozens of core titles). Then i heard it compared to Demons Souls and just the thought of that kinda got me excited. If the death mechanic is used in a similar way where your bag is like your souls in DS and it has great melee combat it might be something special. Then again they might just be building hype. Its def not something il buy a wii-u for. Il get one for jrpgs, zelda, metroid, star fox, and hopefully a kid icarus sequel (not to mention all the great 3rd party games it will get down the road). Il def keep an eye on this though and hope for the best!
