Hmm considering "Rockstar Games" has 80 Employees i cant really say much, but the real question is do they want to compete with COD considering this will be a tough decision for some people, but can also serve as a nice Christmas present for the following month.

I know people say "GTA V doesn't need to be advertised, everyone knows about it anyway" which is silly, Rockstar will advertise the shit out of this game. They've put too much time and effort into the game to say "Yeeaahhh just release in November with no build up, no mass market hype (remember, not everyone follows the gaming community) in the time when the market is crowded with new releases anyway, sounds like a good idea that!"

I've seen more than a few "proper" media stories about first the trailer and then fan hype build up. That doesn't mean, of course, that it's coming this year, but that more than people on the internet know that GTA V is on its way.

I can see a minimalist marketing scheme (nothing and then a month or two of massive hype so nobody has chance to get bored/question their undying loyalty to the brand) and an earlier than expected release date, although I wouldn't even try to put a month on it.

If you've been following N4G, you would see that the mere mention of GTA V news gets into the top new ranking. Honestly, I think the hype is covered. A couple more trailers, maybe some in game live stream, an ad or two in TV, website takeovers, and they can guarantee a million sales in a week or two,

No. Yes, they have a pre-installed buzz for the game, but it doesn't mean hype is "covered" by any means. I didn't hear about Chinatown Wars on N4G, I first knew of it when there was a gigantic mural painted for it on the side of a building... in Chinatown.

I think it's also worth noting that with MP3 and Red Dead, they were both delayed from their original dates and R* said hardly anything about those games until at least 2 to 3 months in.

All the heavy marketing and gameplay etc didn't show up until like late feb, march and april.

I think we will get the few images here and there but the big marketing and media reveals will prob start from Jan, Feb next year.

To notice a pattern that exists (only when you selectively ignore all their other releases that come out on other dates), and then to use that pattern as a basis to assume that a gaming company has secretly adhered to a release-dating-convention and will never deviate from it? It's just a hot release time for games. So is Fall/Winter. If they aren't releasing in Spring they're releasing in Fall/Winter. If it's not ready by Spring it'll be released in the Fall.

I understand where your coming from man but I'm just going off recent data from this gen. I understand the delays and all but when you consider the fact that there is not much info out on the game as well as rockstar's recent release schedule I would have to put my money on May again. You could be right and trust me I would love to be wrong (super excited about the game)but I just don't see it happening. Well just have to wait and see.

GTA IV was originally planned for release on October 16th, 2007 in USA and Europe, however on August 2nd, 2007, R* announced that the game would be delayed until the 2nd quarter of 2008. The game was released for the PS3 and 360 worldwide on April 29th, 2008...I think we will see GTA V around same time next year. I'm thinking abit earlier tho maybe February for some reason. It would be a nice birthday present for me anyway :)

Csn someone please tell me when this game started to be in development because I heard that they were working on it before the release of GTA4.Now I know if that was preproduction or actual development.

GTA5 episodes Q4 2014
RED DEAD game Q4 2015(already confirmed to be in development)
Rockstar will never release a red dead game the same year as episodes for GTA come out.
