Top 10 PS2 HD Remaster Collections (Wishlist)

Kokugamer: The PS3 and Xbox 360 have gotten a treatment recently with receiving HD Remasters of franchises from the previous gaming generation. While the 360 has only received a few of these collections (DMC, Silent Hill, MGS) the PS3 has been getting more. While many people will think these are a waste of time considering many people still own the PS2 games like ICO and Devil May Cry 3, there are plenty of people who have missed out on the titles getting HD remasters. With Zone of the Enders and Ratchet & Clank getting additions to the list there are a handful of titles on the PS2 that deserve the HD treatment. This is a Top 10 HD Collections Wishlist.

Second Sight was a really cool game at the time.

GaboonViper641d ago

Without doubt for me it would be Eternal Darkness, one of the best videogames ever made IMO.

sweendog641d ago

Eternal darkness was phenomenal. I remember panicking when I got an error code pop up and then it looked like all my saves had wiped off my memory card. That game would play with your mind.

GaboonViper641d ago

HAHA same, so sad we probably wont ever see a sequel.

Orbilator641d ago

Yeah loved it to, getting it all and getting the purple rune was great never felt like a chore. The only other game that I really enjoyed as much was starfox adventures. Great game

Mobis-New-Nest641d ago

Paper Mario Thousand Year Door is just incredible, I really hope Nintendo will do a remaster or remake of it.

ZeekQuattro641d ago

Big fan of Gotcha Force. A true hidden gem that rarely gets mentioned. It played a lot like Federation Vs. Zeon which is one or my favorite PS2 games.

IanTH641d ago

No Paper Mario, Geist, or Eternal Darkness is surprising. Games like Second Sight can at least be played on other platforms, but some of those games are exceedingly expensive (should you want to play them on original hardware). I've got a handful of them, but Gotcha Force will sadly never end up in my collection at $700 for a CIB copy.

Seven Games I Would Love to See Remade, Remastered, or at Least Re-Released

Some games of yesteryear were just ahead of their time. So Half-Glass Gaming takes a moment to wax poetically about some favorites from a bygone era and whip up a list of games we would love to see remakes of.

Had a lot of fun with Scarface. That was around the peak of GTA clones. The amount of them has decreased substantially.

roadkillers824d ago (Edited 824d ago )

I agree, the side jobs of selling drugs was a blast.

porkChop824d ago

GTA 4 actually got some of the ideas for the new wanted system from Scarface.

-Foxtrot824d ago

Beyond Good and Evil would be fantastic

Simpsons Hit and Run, expanded with new areas from the newer seasons and with all the hubs joining on from one another to make one massive open world game

Bugs Bunny Lost in Time / Bugs Bunny and Taz: Time Busters

Sheep, Dog n Wolf (Sheep Raider)

Toy Story 2

Legend of Dragoon

Some of my "out there" picks anyway...

isarai824d ago

Ape Escape series
B.L.A.C.K.
Path of Neo
Max Payne trilogy (or at least 1&2) BY ANYONE OTHER THAN GROVESTREET GAME FFS!
Oasis
Rise of the Argonauts
Killzone 2
F.E.A.R.

Just off the top of my head

Profchaos824d ago

Yup max Payne 1 by Grove St games would be the mobile version they did which dropped the difficulty to none existant just in 4k unfortunately.

FPS_D3TH824d ago

I would’ve added stalker but were thankfully getting a sequel soon. This would be my list

FEAR
Max Payne 1 & 2
Blood
Freedom Fighters
Syphon Filter
Dino Crisis

Eidolon824d ago

Dino Crisis Remake, hell yeah. Like RE2/3 remake would be great.

Eidolon824d ago

PC has Mods, Xbox Series X has (4K?)/60fps. For consoles this would probably come down to deeper visual quality and quality of life improvements in one package, like the treatment Mass Effect trilogy got.

Yui_Suzumiya824d ago

I want it specifically on Switch though.. now later this year I plan on getting a Series X and I'll enjoy it there as well. My main problem is the fact that Bethesda has re-released Skyrim on nearly every console for 3 generations yet they haven't done anything with Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Those are just as popular as Skyrim so why haven't they been Remastered for all the current or even last gen consoles yet? I feel like us Fallout fans are getting the short end of the stick here.
