Assassin's Creed 3 - Official Animus Trailer

Created by Abstergo’s incredible research into genetic memory, ANIMUS gives you the chance to choose your favorite hero and to game within the past during the American Revolution.

This trailer highlights the multiplayer aspects of Assassin’s Creed 3.

Domination is a 4 vs 4 team based game in which each team has to capture and defend as many territory points as possible.
Wolfpack is a 2 – 4 players vs AI mode in which you need to assassinate targets before the time runs out.

We also see the upgrade system and a brief look at character unlocks. The game will also show you progress of your friends and give you the ability to challenge them.

Ive never liked the whole animus side of things, wish it was just set in the time period that the characters are played in.

ginsunuva4268d ago

It's a lame excuse for invisible boundaries and other "game" mechanics.

Also this trailer was cheesy and the MP looks boring. Only Brotherhood's MP was appealing at the time.

And lol "We offer multiple game modes: Domination and Wolfpack"
Well, technically that's "multiple" as it's more than 1.

Robochobo4268d ago

How is this a lame excuse for anything when this is what the entire story is about? If we were thrown into the first game in Altair's shoes, wouldn't you ask yourself, "Why am I here right now?" You'd basically be going after the Apple of Eden but for absolutely no reason at all, other than to get it from evil men who want to rule the world. You wouldn't know that the Templar's are still an organization during modern times still trying to achieve world domination. You literally would have no link between Altair and Ezio, other than for the purpose of finding and guarding the Apple, which is literally every Assassins job to do. Saying the game didn't need the Animus is like saying Halo didn't need the Halo's. It would be about a guy named Chief fighting some aliens. Meaning there would be no backbone to the story and it would then become another game about stopping aliens from taking Earth.

Agree with you robochobo....I'm not getting how such an integral part of the story is a lame excuse for boundaries. What boundaries?

Zha1tan4268d ago

I wouldnt be as brash as that, the game obviously has to have boundaries in some way or other.

Just felt it sucked me out of the immersion when I was roaming around and then I just got sucked out into the future.

Nimblest-Assassin4268d ago

you realize there are more than 2 new game modes right? its a tease

And robochobo nailed it in his explanation so I won't bother

theodopolopolus4265d ago

Well at 2:07 you can see;
Wanted
Assassinate
Manhunt
Domination
Artifact Assault
Team Deathmatch
Capture The Flag
Steal The Artifact
Drive The Car
Open The Can
Meet Ted

I'm not sure on the last ones but that is 12 on that page, so by multiple there will be enough game modes.

Noone else sees this as Ubisoft's multiplayer Battlelog? Watch it again and tell me.

adamant7154268d ago

I wish they'd show a trailer with Desmond and everything.. :/

TekoIie4268d ago

Did the Abstergo symbol remind anyone else of chrome?

I gotta say I'm happy there not telling us ANYTHING on Desmond. It's going to make his part in the story more of a mystery when I start playing :)

Abstergo is GOOGLE :P they will take over the world

Games with the dumbest NPCs

Non-playable characters in certain games are meme material, thanks to their foolish behavior. These are the big-budget games with the dumbest NPCs.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

How did redfall not make the cut.

Every Bethesda game and Every Halo game. This list needed to have Cyberpunk somewhere.

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK263d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder263d ago (Edited 263d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

raiden_188263d ago

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

RPGer263d ago

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
