While Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale didn't get the best review, there are still some aspects of the game that deserve some credit.
Though PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is a bit of a cult classic, it could have been a big hit if it launched in 2022 instead of 2012.
It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.
Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?

I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.
I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.
Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.

Im in the beta. Yes it's a bare bones beta but I know when I get the final product the game is going to be really fun. The beta is fun but just wait til we get all the modes, story, and characters. And the game does have charm it's some people are just biased because mario isn't in it. And the game plays nothing like Smash Bros
How do the characters lack nostalgic appeal? It sounds like a Nintendo fanboy who only played Nintendo games as a child. Well I grew up on the Ps1 and Ps2 so these characters have plenty of nostalgic appeal to me and many others. When I played Supper Smash bros. for first time, I only knew a few of the characters beforehand but I still find the game very fun and appealing and learned about the characters along the way. And don't forget that all the characters haven't been officially announced and you are playing a beta. Need to keep things in perspective better.
BS. Mostly all I have been hearing is the PASBR lacks 'charm' because it's characters speak in complete sentences and don't look like wads of chewing gum or look like a rainbow. And correct me if I am wrong but when SSBB pulled all the way back and the characters looked microscopic didn't people still play it just fine. Also I have heard from people who play the game just fine and win without the problems you seem to be having.Also if I remember correctly in SSBB it was easy to get lost in a scuffle too especially when you were using multiple versions of a character and people were using weapons like crazy The only point I agree with is that they need a way to see how well you are doing. Some sort of indicator I am sure can be put in before release.
