The worst voice acting you'll ever hear on a PlayStation console

PSU.com writes:

"Still, the videogames industry has played host to some right stinkers in terms of voice acting, and it’s these audio atrocities we’ve decided to ‘honour’ in our latest feature. Bad acting isn’t just negated to Sony platforms of course, but hey, we’re a PlayStation site, so what did you expect? With that said, sit back and join us now as we show you the worst voice acting you’ll ever here on a Sony format."

I dunno about them but Socom Special Forces (UK voices) were god awful. The team sounded awful.

PoSTedUP4274d ago

they sounded like mercenaries from the UK...

and SO3:TTEOT had some pretty bad voice acting too.

Hellsvacancy4274d ago

Sonic Adventure for sure, my 4 year old daughter has it on (she is now) so i tend to hear a lot of it, it is very bad

Heavy Rain? not so sure about that, i dont mind Jaydens voice personally

Ser4274d ago

Oh, man...Sonic Adventure's voice acting is something else. lol

I agree on Jayden's voice. I appreciate his "Nahman" accent.

deno4274d ago

The good old days. I remember all that wonderful resident evil voice acting.

Xperia_ion4274d ago (Edited 4274d ago )

I would hate to play Resident Evil with no voice acting, it gave its charm.

GTRrocker6664274d ago (Edited 4274d ago )

I remember when I was playing resident evil 2 back in the day. My friend Paul and Chris were over and they both had n64 and they would bust my balls so hard about how bad the voice acting was. They were literally laughing histarically during the scene when Leon goes into the gun shop and that guy pulls a gun on him. "Don't shoot, I'm a human!". HA I loved it though.

Xperia_ion4274d ago

You know what gets me, "Where's Barry ?", " I don't know he is probably...." *Jill gasp*

Ron_Danger4274d ago

My favorites: "What is this!? Wow! What a mansion!"
"Hope this is not Chris' blood"
And the famous "You were almost a Jill sandwich!"

ChocolateGiddyUp4274d ago

"STOP...don't open...that door!"

Patrick4274d ago

"Jill, heres the lockpick, it might be handy if you "the Master of unlocking" take it with you. "
lol.. I love the older resident evils.

Pozzle4274d ago

One of my favorite scenes was one of the endings with the live-action actors...

It's just so awkward!

FFX and star Ocean ? Did that guy even play jrpgs ? Someone has never touched games like Shining Force Neo on ps2 . Horrible on all accounts already , then comes the awful english voices

And that's only one of countless badly dubbed jrpgs of the era

ToZanarkand864274d ago

FFX had awesome voice acting!

SpaceFox4274d ago

This, honestly the only bad part of its voice acting was the one laughing scene. But even that was bad on purpose, the goal was for it to sound forced. They did that pretty well.

I just fell in love with the characters and I dont think I would have without the voice acting.

The 7 Best Vampire Games: Embrace the Night

Vampire games are making a comeback of late, and gamers hoping this is a new trend should look back at the 7 best vampire games ever made.

SimpleSlave18d ago (Edited 18d ago )

What is a list? A miserable little pile of scribbles.

A Best Vampire Game list and no Bloodborne. A bold choice, indeed.

The_Hooligan18d ago

IMO, I wouldn't consider bloodborne a vampire game. Long story short, It's more about the side effects of the blood experiment and the influence of the red moon, than actually being a vampire.

SimpleSlave18d ago (Edited 18d ago )

Yes, Bloodborne is about Vampires. It's not just the undertones, or the imagery or the obvious parallels, it's pretty much everything and then some. Here's the thing, Bram Stoker's Dracula is also not a Vampire novel. Why? Because technically Vampires from folklore were something else.

But based on our updated view of what Vampires are, informed in one way or another by Bram Stoker's Dracula, Nosferatu The Vamprye, and many other stories, and combined with From Software's own interpretation, we can say with confidence that Bloodborne IS a Vampire story. Sure, there are other elements, but the central narrative is pretty much Vampires. Which would make it THE Vampire game. I mean, Cainhurst Castle. Anyways, that's how I see it.

But to each their and we'll agree to disagree.

MEGANE18d ago

Thats the best Vampire game ever, but enough talk, have at you!.

SimpleSlave18d ago (Edited 18d ago )

Absolutely... Now, die monster! You don't belong in this thread!

I've lost all hype for Bloodlines 2. It's going to be an action game.

Barlos18d ago

No Blood Omen? Even today it's one of my favourite vampire games. We could really do with a release on modern platforms.

Relientk7718d ago

I really enjoyed Vampyr. The combat is a little clunky and could use some work. However, the story, characters, dialog. setting, and pretty much everything else in the game is great.

I’d have taken a few of those out. Prefer Sonic over Sonic 2. Outrun should be in there. Maybe even Pong as millions of people had fun with that even if it was repetitive. Final Fight pipped any Streets of Rage game, although Streets of Rage had the better soundtrack. Too many to list l guess. To me, retro gaming is the 1980s, maybe going into early 1990s.

Popsicle30d ago

Agree that the generational gap is too broad to really make a strong list. Need to tighten the years a bit. Hard to compare Pac Man with N64 games.
