Mass Effect movie to be based on first game, script finished

IncGamers: It seems that the script for the Mass Effect movie is finished. Mark Protosevich, writer of the I Am Legend and Thor movies, has penned the script.

mmm... mass effect as a good movie? not sure. cool world and characters, but how do you fit all of that into the length of the movie?

will probably be fun but will feel a bit shallow

The movie only has about 2 hours to tell the story. That means very tight plots or no story.

Even with the main crews. Half will be under used since Shepard has to take most of the time with a few crew mates. Everyone else just going for the ride. Between Ashley and Kaiden, it has to be Ashley because Shepard will probably be male.

But the movie version could be 100% different from the game with an idiot Shepard and who knows what equally dumb crews.

Why does it have to be 2 hours when it could be 2 and a half or 3? Heck even if they follow the whole trilogy I would not be surprise of the disappointing ending, or they could go the dark energy storyline route(what was once suppose to be the real ending).

So now all we need to do is wait for it to be rewritten twice, and get a director attached who demands yet another rewrite... and then does nothing with it for a year or two before dropping the project.

After that it might be on track for 2020.

But some who watch the movie may want to make their own choice as to who lives or dies. Also, will we be able to complain to the movie studio to change the ending if we don't like it?

Yay Loads of Aliens that speak English, and mostly with American accents.
Nice move from Bioware to get a bigger audience.
This Annoyed me in game, pritty sure the annoyance will be bigger in a film version.

Fable had nothing but people with British accents. Even the Elder Scrolls series right? Oh right, Aliens. Well yeah I mean the Aliens I meet in my daily life have accents from all over the place. When speaking English.

Elder Scrolls VA is terrible and they are American accents.
Peter Molyneux is English. Games set in fantasy style setting like Fable work better with English accents.
If Lord of the Rings had a full cast of Texans the film would have been a flop.
Alien that discovered Space Travel before Humans would not sooo easily give up their native tounge for a petty planet like Earth.
You never hear a foreign conversation in Mass Effect.
If you play KOTOR the Aliens keep their native tounge. No American Wookies etc.

Yeah I don't see the point in making a movie based on a game who's biggest selling point is the difference in playthroughs. The game I play is different from the game you play and all. Why not just go the first contact war route? I mean really they should avoid any movie having to do with Shephard. Seeing as there is no definite Shephard.

Shepard's character model is designed after a real person. It'd be pretty cool if they used him. Though I don't know if he can act or even speak english so...

What I'm going to hate most is the love interest. 9 bets says its going to be Ashley because she's the only human. Their best bet is to have NO love interest in the movie at all, but /every/ movie has to have a love interest so. That wont be happening.

Make a trilogy, and make each one lord of the rings length, hell i wouldnt mind making th emovies split into two if they used to get all of th estory and info in, omggg so much potential
