PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale' on Vita is nearly identical to the PS3 game

SuperBot Entertainment isn't developing the PlayStation Vita version of PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale in-house — it's being handled by Austin-based Bluepoint Games — but playing the game on Vita, you'd have to look long and hard to notice any differences between it and its PlayStation 3 counterpart.

That's good. Hopefully it will be cross playable.

Mikhail4290d ago

It is cross playable based on developer comments

HarryMasonHerpderp4290d ago (Edited 4290d ago )

They demonstrated it on the E3 stage.
Some of the guys were on the Vita and some on the PS3 http://www.youtube.com/watc...

It's looking great.

Acquiescence4290d ago

I can't wait to play as Cole MacGrath.

kikizoo4290d ago

...then buy a gaming toy, no pikachu on ps3/vita ;)

ChrisW4290d ago

Hmmm? Sorry guys... I must be greatly confused.

DivineAssault 4290d ago

I hope its fun.. I wouldnt mind a SSB rip off as long as its fun.. PS has plenty of mascots for this to work.. IDK about not taking damage though... I hope it ends up just as fun trying to gain super levels

kornbeaner4290d ago

I have had some hands on time with the game. It's pretty F'n fun. Since the whole point is to get Super meter to obtain a "Kill-Shot" the game plays more aggressive then a typical fighter. Since no aggression, means no meter, players can't lame out a win. It looks weird and plays weird at first, but once you grab the concept of the "Kill-shot" it's nothing but fun.

DivineAssault 4290d ago

Thats reassuring to hear.. Its got my reserve money but im not picking it up til i see the reviews.. I think it will be good tho

smashcrashbash4289d ago

That is good to hear. You are not the only person who has been saying how fun it is and how the whole super KO kills work fine. But in this modern age of gaming all people will be looking to see how much it is or isn't like SSB and will judge it as harshly as possible no matter if it a good game or not. The worse thing is you expect at least the reviewers to be professional about it but the first thing they will be on about is comparing it to SSB too.

I will give it the chance it deserves just like I will with LBP Kart but I am afraid a lot of people will be as stubborn and ignorant about it as possible.I know people who are just waiting to jump at the chance to tear it apart as fast as possible like what they did to GT5 and R3.I can just see the reviewers counting how many points they will take away already.

Ramas4290d ago

that game should be PSN release, not full 60$... its really not worth that price.

kornbeaner4290d ago

Please explain as you seem to have a very deep insight.

Ramas4290d ago

ok, well quite simple game, definately not much resourses needed, you cant even compare it to other quality games like uncharted, deadspace, resident eveil, Assassnins creed, heavy rain and thousands of other games.
All you do is jump around in same stages (diferent background) and fight in lame way. Would be nice to know how much it cost them to create that game, but i guess 10 times less then all other quality games.
I might be fun it it was psn game for 9.99$ to fool around a bit, 1 week or so and delete it.

DigitalRaptor4290d ago (Edited 4290d ago )

Smash Bros has always been a $60 retail game and it is nothing but pure quality series. Sony are not going to change standards because you are deluded.

It is a game that is designed around multiplayer (it also has a single player mode and most likely, a few more of them) and is amongst those games known for their epic longevity due to how much sheer fun they are --> Timesplitters, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Unreal Tournament.

I don't believe you have any knowledge on how games are developed or the manpower, and thus the budget that goes into it. More than you'd ever believe, and for this game, certainly not "10 times less then all other quality games". Your perception of quality seems to be based on whether it has a AAA budget or not and that is fcked up. Superbot are a smaller developer than Naughty Dog, but the same 9-5 (or more) workforce effort applies, and saying it's not worth $60 is disrespectful to the developers who put the hours of effort into these sorts of games.

Yakuza is a lesser Shenmue. By that logic, I should only have to pay $40 or less for it... That's insane logic!

DivineAssault 4290d ago

The vita version will be less than $60 so he can go with that

TheFirstClassic4290d ago

Theres going to be a single player mode right? If it can match brawl, which had a huge sp with cutscenes and everything, then it is well worth the 60. The fighting isn't lame, the combat, stages, and characters are all awesome. I'm not so sure this would take that much less resources than any other game which isn't a new ip, especially not cod which involves large amounts of copy and pasting. We still dont really know how much content the game has though. Again, think of how much stuff was in brawl, if they can even come close to matching that, then it will be well worth the 60 bones.

omarzy4290d ago

I'd rather get it on Vita if i had one. Just seems likr a better fit for some reason.

GribbleGrunger4290d ago

You'll probably get both for one purchase anyway

dorron4290d ago

That would be sweat! If cross purchase was made for most games, Vita would sell like cakes!!!

It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.

CrimsonWing69514d ago

Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?

It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.

PapaBop514d ago

I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.

spoonard514d ago

I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.

Magatsuhi514d ago

Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

Father__Merrin514d ago

Yes the power kills spoilt it completely WTH was they thinking you should have hp bar that's it

God of War: Ragnarok Weirdly Makes PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Canon

God of War: Ragnarok has plenty of fun references to PlayStation history, but now fans have discovered a conversation that calls back to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale — the crossover fighting game released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Nyxus522d ago

I wouldn't say canon. More like an easter egg.

Deathdeliverer521d ago

That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
