5 games that are better on PS3 than Xbox 360

PS3= third person games and fighters. the daulshock just seems better for them imo, with the d pad and looser sticks for agile movements.

360= 1st person games and driving games. due to the triggers actually resembling gun triggers and the precise movement you get from the stiffer sticks.

but really i dont pay for live...so the games i get for the 360 are just exclusives i like and single player games that are better on it with no multiplayer. ie elder scrolls, fallout and what not

Many 360 gamers actually map the shooting button to the bumper instead of the trigger because it's quicker and requires less effort and travel time than the trigger.

However, not many will admit to this :P

Either way, I just flat out prefer the Dualshock. It doesn't make my hands sweat like the xbox controller, I like the symmetrical placement of the analogs, and people who complain that, "oh it's too small for my hands, I have huge hands", That's just crap. My hands are generally larger than the average adults and the Dualshock still fits me fine.

People can prefer what they prefer because when it comes down to it, they're all just opinions, and opinions should only matter to their respective owners.

LA Noire should have been PS3 exclusive for many reasons:
1. Sony helped R* with the production of the game.
2. R* owes sony an exclusive.
3. They had to cut out 2 whole desks (burglary and fraud) just so the 360 could handle it as they couldn't fit more than 4 discs in a case.

I know they were in development hell, R* couldn't wait to get L.A. Noire out the door so they could let go of team bondi (f*cking shame nobody else would buy them).
But at the same time even if it was a smooth development they still couldn't add those desks to the game because of 360 limitations, and they weren't ever planned as dlc, so they were just scrapped because of that reason.
You can actually see in some of the later cases that Cole knows detectives he had never met before which is obvious that they were part of those two desks.

Swapping discs is a minor annoyance but I'm sure 360 fans spend less time doing that over all compared to ps3 fans and their long load and install times. Why does no one talk about that lol?

Bioshock's later release on PS3 was definitely superior.

And LA NOIRE had a much superior version on PS3. (It's the reason I actually bought mine)

They really should have had Mass Effect 2 on that list. The PS3 version of ME2 was light/day compared to ME2 on 360. (same can't be said for ME3 tho)

The comparison for ME2's ps3 and 360 versions was really weird. Usually looked a LOT sharper on the PS3 version and the lighting was a bit better (bearing in mind that shadow effects in ME2 were terrible) and in other areas it looked worse :/

The biggest problem with ME2 was that the ps3 version had nearly everyone suffering audio being out of sync for sfx during cutscenes and it really took you out of the moment and the framerate being awful when fighting 5+ enemies.

EA basically just wanted to cash in and pissed me and many others off a LOT.

ME2 was released on PS3 a year after the 360 version, and it was on their new engine.

So, yeah the reasoning is obvious. But so are the differences. IMO ME2 on PS3 was like an entirely new game.

The same can be said for the multiplats that look better on 360. Most require a side by side comparison to tell the difference. The truth is, there are very few multiplats that look substantially better on either platform. Parity is the name of the game. Exclusives... well we all know that's a different story, whether we want to admit it or not. PS3 wins... not by a world shattering margin but PS3 does win. PS3 exclusives have more of a visual advantage over 360 exclusives than 360 multiplats have over PS3 multiplats. End of story. I'm an American and I approve this statement. Carry on.

Funny how someone who hates something so much is so attracted to them at the same time. I think it actually stems from Sony not doing as well as they had hoped so their focus shifts to Microsoft instead.

One of the earlier titles that was better on the PS3 was Burnout and that was largely due to Criterion taking the time to understand the PS3. They knew the drawbacks like the bluray read speeds but found a way around it. That's the key to creating games on the PS3 is learning the hardware and how to get the most of it. Problem is a lot of developers don't have the resources to go that extra mile and the PS3 needed extra attention.

This isn't like the original XBOX that was more powerful than the PS2 and didn't cost the consumer more money or provide hurdles for developers. It was a much easier platform than the PS2 but the PS2 dominated the charts. That's why most developers used the PS2 as the lead platform. This didn't happen on the PS3 because the PS3 didn't dominate. So there wasn't the same incentive to work harder.

Both systems have become a wash anyways as far as what each is capable of. There was actually more of a gap with the original XBOX compared to the PS2 but for some odd reason the fanboys this generation seem to want to exemplify the smaller differnces to the extreme. That's likely due to how competitive the two systems are to each other. I find it rather immature, and idiotic quite frankly, but i guess they have nothing better to do than argue about such petty things.

Why people can't just enjoy the games and stop worrying about the company behind the platform is beyond me. There's so much content out there and so many platforms now to play them on that there really is no need in dramatizing the negative stuff all the time.

The problem for ps3 is I could make a list of at least a 100 games that play better on 360 then ps3 and the games they listed you have tobe a videophile to see.I understand ps site is trying to create some positives forthird party sony titles but the fact is there's no comparison as the 360 kills the ps3 in this catagory. We all know that 98% of that 99% were only 2% less graphically pleasing. The exclusives will always be the true measure, no matter how much certain companies want you to believe otherwise. The 360 has an incredibly small overall advantage in multiplats. Give me the PS3's greater advantage in the exclusives category any day of the week. Gameplay is subjective, as is art direction. Visuals from a technical level are not. In conclusion, go with whatever floats your boat, but don't pretend one boat isn't better looking than the other. I'm an American, and I approve this message. These are all minor games vs. better games like Skyrim which is one of the greatest games ever. Surprisingly, I would think the ps3 would be able to handle Skyrim better than the 360 because of bluray. It's one of the biggest open world games I seen and I haven't seen any sony exclusive as big as this. Fallout 3 and GTA4 are also examples of huge games better on the 360.

Mortal Kombat on the ps3 is a no brainer. Kratos in the MK world is a perfect match. Street Fighter vs. Tekken is another that I purchased for my ps3. But that's pretty much it. Everything else goes to my 360.

PS3 continues to lead the way with the greatest games ever this generation, I am happy that sony are doing so well providing content they are not even afraid to deliver new IPs near the end of the cycle. My RULE OF THUMB normally is xb360: multiplat and Exclusives. ps3: Exclusives. But i normally wait for the demo to drop to clarify my judgement on the prefer console. But to tell the TRUTH i prefer Bluray disc vs. regular dvd(scratches) but games like madden 13 and nba 2k13? xb360. games like The Last of Us, Beyond 2 Souls, and even Morta Kombat with Kratos? ps3. so i'm rather pickie when it come to my $59.99 purchase. psn: cedaridge / xbl: cedar4Thunder

I disagree with Bioshock, I thought it was well known that the Xbox 360 version was superior.

The rest are kind of eye of the beholder in my opinion. There aren't a ton of games that you could say are better on either the PS3 or Xbox 360, the only few that I can really think of is Skyrim, which plays better on the Xbox 360, same with Black Ops, Bayonetta and The Orange Box.

forget bettter, we gamed on previous gen consoles with no ability to patch and still we didn't complain and played happily waiting for the sequel.

Better should be really by really large gap in quality (beyonetta) or features.

Features I would say burnout paradise and unreal tournament 3.

Burnout had an ability to upload your game save to their website for map updates. UT3 had pc mod support.

I prefer features over pixel counting.

The hd comparisons from the xbox camp always made me laugh seeing as how the original 360 didn't even have and hdmi out port.

you dont need HDMI to do HD lol. from day 1 I was playing my 360 in 720p via component on my Bravia. i could also play it in 720p via VGA on my PC monitor. then when the 1080p update came out BEFORE the PS3 released, i could play it in 1080p via component or VGA. so please, tell me what part of 720p/1080p isnt HD?

technically the 360 doesn't output in 1080p. It does upscaled from 720p. Thus you don't actually get 1080p resolution. I only say this as you like to press the fact that 99% of PS3 games do the same but always claim full 1080p from the 360.

2. FEAR ( Ps3 version SUCKED )
3. MW
4. The Darkness
5. Half Life box set
6. Borderlands
7. Dead Space 1 & 2
8. Condemned 2
9. Arkham Asylum
10. Kane & Lynch Dog Days

And a few others but in the end it comes down to system preference, what type of television, the settings you have dialed in and cables you use.

The original release of Oblivion was very noticably superior on the PS3.

Better textures
More vibrant colors
Nearly twice the draw distance
and far less texture pop-ins or random "loading" pauses

The GOTY versions evened things out though.
