I thought Double Dash on the Gamecube was fantastic & Super Circuit on the GBA was brilliant (especially the Sky Garden track)

I feel old now, but the Mario Kart franchise has redefined multiple generations of racing games. Mario Kart is still hands down the best Kart racing game available, sure I like some of the others, but Mario Kart is the one that started them all.

Double Dash is still my favorite Mario Kart though!

I love Mario Kart, but in my opinion I have way much more fun on Crash Team Racing on the PS1 and Diddy Kong Racing on the N64 than any Mario Kart games.

lol i think ima have to agree to be honest i just started playing mario kart a few years ago and my first kart game was crash team raceing it was a long time ago but i remember bein hooked to that game lol and i dono who disagreed cus its not logial to even disagree wit ur statement u dident even say one was better just that had fun with another more. and disagree ppl all u want btw im a nintendo fan so yeah its called a honest opinion. to make note ive never played didy kong raceing.

mario kart is one game that really needs dlc. I would pay $5 for another circuit or a big series of classic tracks

Thanks for the good times and memories. I remember playing the snes one at my best bro's house all night. Then when the n64 one dropped we used to all get baked and play 4 player battle mode (the block fort specifically) for days on end. So many good times with the series and n64 in particular. Goldeneye, mk64, mario 64, zelda oot, star fox 64, best gen ever. The 3ds captured the feeling of the classic n64 splitscreen if you have a friend and play locally together. Me and my bro go at in mk7, ssf4, and others.

I wonder if people will have the same i have for nintendo with halo and gears 20 years from now? Maybe COD? Man gaming has changed alot.

I love Mario Kart and have some very fond memories of it from my childhood but it's essentially been doing the exact same thing for years.

LBP Karting is just what the genre needs. The play,create,share ethic will forge a new direction for kart racers and the creativity that stems from that will mean endless fun. Nintendo need to do something to revitalise the series.
