Resident Evil 6 more than twice as long as RE5, says Capcom

Resident Evil 6 is more than twice the length of its not-exactly-brief predecessor, judging by comments from producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.

I really hope the days of shelling out 60 bucks for a 3 to 5 hour campaign are over... but for some reason I doubt it. But I'm good with RE 6 being longer, it was like 3 hours or less, so let's hope for 10 to 12 but really probably more like 8 hrs.

i was on the top 200 leaderboard when res 5 came out for beating it in about 1 hour 30 mins or something like that. so this better be at least 3 times longer

I hope you aren't claiming this as your first playthrough playing it normally. Speed runs don't count when summing up the length of a game.

Can't trust devs on game length claims. I've never seen an accurate one to date. I remember Rockstar said GTAIV was 100 hours long. I 100%'d it in half that.

I'd rather a game be 50 hours long with compelling content than 100 hours long with repetitive side missions. After I finsihed the main story line for GTA4, I was pretty much done with the game. Shooting virtual pigeons for a virtual trophy isn't what I would call "fun". The dates in the game were pretty good though. I was suprised at how many lines of dialouge each date had. Everytime I'd hear something new.

On topic:
I'm guessing each of the 3 campaigns will be about 4 hours or less.

jared what was your point in addressing his point lol. To me anything over 20 hours is the start of BS game design. There isnt enough stuff to do in gaming to make a full 20 hour game.

RE games of old all could be beaten in under 3 hours. Young gamers today annoy me with this 6 hours oh noooooooo!! Go play 90 percent of 8-16 bit era games most were under an hour and cost 50 bucks

RE5 was my first Resident Evil so not knowing what I missed out on, I found it a decent game to play. I especially liked that I could play it with my girlfriend, the spooks led to alot of jumping into my arms hehehe.
I don't look to RE for my survival horror fix because it never was that for me.

Hopefully that means RE6 is between 14-21hrs or more cause I completed RE5 in 7hrs which is 2 short IMO.

Had no problem with RE5's length. I'm more concerned with the AI partner. If RE6 is gonna have one. I sure hope it's not as stupid as RE5's.
