Aside from the usual Halo/Gears/Fable/Splinter Cell and TONS of Kinect, nothing really new. MS has almost completely turned the Xbox to a casual machine. Bing, Xbox Music, Nike+? Sheesh

edit: xbox smart glass looks like an intriguing project. I can say that when im gaming, i always have my phone near me to look up tips when im stuck or cheats.

internet explorer coming to xbox...finally. Better late than never. It would be even better if it was firefox but i will take IE over the other console browsers. Useing my phone as the input device. Nice.

Compare this to their previous conferences.......Theyre doing a HELL of lot better this year! Their last conferences were beyond ridiculous.......This year they're actually showing games, and the Xbox Live features look pretty cool......Theyre doing good this year......last year was Kinect and filled with Kinect sh*t.....

This is the worst conference I think I have ever seen. I forgot the Xbox doesn't play games anymore. Halo 4 is nothing we didn't know about, splinter cell is multiplat, forza horizon will be just a slightly modified version of forza same engine etc fable isn't worth mentioning it's the next "Kinect star wars" the Xbox is not a device I use for media, I have better devices, this is the Worst conference I have ever seen. Also a CGI trailer tells us nothing.
Plus I'm not going to buy a Kinect just to use it as a glorified microphone in games, microphones have existed for ages. Just because it's a peice of junk doesn't mean it has to have exclusive microphone control, I have microphones on all my devices.

That was disappointing. Halo looked like Halo, Splinter Cell Black List looked like Splinter Cell Conviction, COD looked like COD and the Gears teaser looked like Gears. Tomb Raider was the best thing I saw from that conference. And the look at South Park was cool. They showed nothing new or exciting for xbox only though and their presentation had no big news or exciting announcements. The one game that looked interesting was the Portal-esque Matter but then it said 'made for Kinect' and I'm not buying a Kinect to play one game.

@DK: I guess you didn't want the conference or can't read as there is plenty of negative things to say about MS' conference. It's clear they don't care about delivering new gaming experiences on their GAMING console. All they care about are sequels, timed exclusive DLC, Kinect, apps, Kinect, apps, and Kinect. You can be happy for the sequels to some of your favorite games, but if you're happy with the overall state of their focus and conference then you have low standards.

I'm disappointed, this was so boring to watch more than half the time were "US" exclusive media content I dont even get to use it here in Sweden. To much focus tablet/phone/kinect gimmick related stuff.

I'm a hardcore Xbox 360 gamer and this is just the truth. It hurts that they didnt even show 1 new exclusive.

I can only name 4 things that brought a smile on my face and that is:

1. Halo 4 gameplay,
2. Splinter Cell Blacklist (I did not see that coming and I enjoy Splinter Cell)
3. South Park game (I love southpark)
4. All Xbox 360 big in-house titles is announced at the same time for the first time. Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable. This probably means we will see "Xbox Next" by 2013.

But still got to see new gameplay from E3 and 3rd party games.

At least Halo looked like Halo again. I'm glad that Reach nonsense was just a one off thing and now they can get back to new stories with the characters we know. The next Gears is probably end of November 13. Yay! A trailer for a game that may be out in a year and a half. New forza then Kinect stuff.
The smart window thing could be interesting but it depends on if developers actually use it.
All in all I think last year's Kinectaganza was far worse. ("Look at the water! We can go anywhere!" *shudder*) but still not much to see that we haven't come to expect. For core gamers it's "Here's Halo and Gears will come out sometime. Oh, and some COD! Thanks for coming out."

Why would they end with a multiplatform game? If anything they should have ended with Halo 4. Granted they have some cool Ideas for the 360 its features that no one really cares about. They should release some type of media device for all the services because the 360 is becoming a Jack of all trades and that's not good for a "GAMING CONSOLE".

Listen, I am as fair as possible, but E3 should be about what sets your system apart from the others, in this MS always misses the boat - a handful of system exclusives (that we seem to get every year) is not going to cut it for the core gaming world.

I sorta want to know why they had a 15 second CGI trailer of their second biggest exclusive franchise (Gears of War) and not gameplay. Not only was it a short trailer, Kinect + Nike exceeded its length well over ten fold.

They didn't bring something for everyone, however. They had no original IPs that would entice me to buy a 360. I watch the MS conference every year, as a consumer who is looking for enough new exclusive content that would justify my purchase - since I'm not interested in "Halo," "Gears," or "Forza."

From my perspective, the conference showed nothing significant. I already have multimedia services through my laptop and PS3. I don't have a smartphone, and I can't use Kinect for anything requiring lower body movement. The only games I saw that interested me will be available on PS3, and timed DLC alone doesn't warrant a purchase of a 360.

Nike fitness look cool. and with all the sports content such as NBA on xb360 and NFL Monday Night Football? it works for me. pretty soon u may not need cable or satellite. Being a 360 fan I wanted to like the show. Halo came out strong gears looked cool splinter cell was awesome looking then they started talking about apps. Which was not bad then the smart glass demo was running way too long. But at this point I was ready for a new game. Was happy to see a game developer name popup and then after the little trailer for dance central 3 a stupid consent with usher started and dropped all the momentum they had built up and caused my rating for this E3 to drop down to a D-. With little hope left they turned on a cod trailer.... WoW worst way to end your conference ever.

Sony has to really screw up not to beat this performance. Nintendo gets an easy pass because they are launching a new console. I hope e3 gets better. MS you let everyone down with this showing. Also whoevers idea it was to get usher should be fired!

You didn't like the press conference? Well, if You don't own any MS products there's no need to worry or criticize.

What's the point in wasting your time? Your incessant trolling about 1)The Xbox having no games, 2)The Xbox having the "same old IP's" or 3)MS focusing more on Kinect and entertainment features isn't going to sway anyone who owns an Xbox to suddenly decide they don't like it because a bunch of little close-minded c*nts on the internet said those things. Given the Xbox's sales numbers in the US, your trolling clearly isnt affecting consumers either.

Also, your complaints are hypocritical and, at times, downright ludacris:

*Halo, Gears, Forza, and Splinter Cell are not "old tired IP's".. They're flagship brands. Just like Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, and Infamous are flagship brands (which also have as many iterations per franchise as the MS flagship exclusives, so don't even go there)

*Kinect is casual. I dont know anyone who owns an Xbox with a Kinect, and I don't know anyone who owns an Xbox who suddenly can only find kid-oriented Kinect games to play, so that conversation about "MS is only focusing on Kinect games now" is out the window.

*Xbox has no games. Let's see.. what have I played recently on Xbox.. Deus EX: Human Revolution, LA Noire, Just Cause 2, Battlefield 3, Batman Arkham City, Max Payne 3, Forza Motorsports 4, Metro 2033,... Oh wait, that's right i forgot I can ONLY play exclusives on a console, right?

I'm not "defending" MS's conference. I'm pointing out the rediculousness of closeminded c*ck-slobbering fanboys, mostly of the Sony-loving breed, on this particular website. My point in listing the games I've played on my 360 lately was to point out that despite a lack of exclusives, people who ownly own a 360 (or primarily game on a 360), continue to find excellent games to entertain themselves. You're quick to point out that "the list reads like a list of PC or ps3 games." But guess what?? I PLAYED THEM ALL ON XBOX. What you meant is Xbox has very few exclusives... ans what I pointed out is that it doesn't stop people from finding amazing AAA games to play ALL THE TIME. It doesn't have to be an exclusive game for you to enjoy it immenseley.

Also, I think my other point was also lost on you. Your insisting that Xbox is a fail and has no games and is casual focused and yada yada yada.. isn't going to cause me (and many others) to suddenly stop loving the 360. To be honest, it was boring besides Halo stuff, which looks great, and South Park, which looks amazing. Watching RE and CoD got me thinking how scripted and linear the games have gone, they were painfull to look at... And Usher, really? Really??

EA was boring too, nothing surprising, BF premium (really?), UFC ok.. Crysis, DS, sports, etc.. I hope Sony and Nintendo will blow the bank, or Ubi shows something amazing like BG&E 2...

It is clear by this E3 2012 press conference from Microsoft, that they are putting their attention on the casual market.

I honestly expected more from them considering they also focused on the Kinect last year as well and thought they would focus more on the hardcore games this year.

I guess 360 only gamers can play multi-platform games and try out the casual games until Next-Gen arrives.

What I find so damn funny regarding microsoft is that they are immune to criticism. One can hardly fault Sony or accuse them on lack of new original gaming experiences which is ultimately what drives this industry. Keyword here being 'gaming'. From this point of view MS is sorely lacking. Instead MS is taking the 'one device for all route' with the 360. My laptop, satelite box, home entertainment systems does everything the 360 does amd better. Why when we the gamers criticise MS on the lack of new gaming experiences are we then labelled fanboys and trolls? God I hope Sony goes back to the games only formula they had with the PS2.

Really? People really didn't see games, and they were watching from the first 20 minutes? And they get agree's and well saids by saying this? LOL... love it! Halo 4 was the first freaking thing shown. That Tom Clancy game which looked incredible, was shown as well. The new "I can't believe I'm not Forza" game was shown, and so were others.
