Incredible battle and one that should not be missed.

However you can actually avoid the encounter altogether. When Snake rounds the corner in the swamp near the dock The End is being pushed in a wheel chair into the large entrance to the right. If you have you sniper rifle ready and you are fast enough you can hit the fuel barrels nearby and actually take out The End right there. Of course you'll miss a great boss battle as well as forgo his camouflage but it can be done.

And Snake against The Boss or Solid Snake vs the Hind are just two fights that easily outrank Rex vs Ray.

There are 4 ways of beating him. I got to say MGS is truly incredible. They really put some originality and uniqueness into their games.

Rex vs Ray was one of the most boring fights ever. I can't believe he didn't include the best fight. Solid Snake vs Liquid Snake on top of Rex.

My favourites are:

- The Boss
- The End
- Rex vs Ray
- Liquid vs Solid on top of Rex
- Ocelot/Liquid on top of Outer Haven

Solidus Snake (final)
Liquid Ocelot (final)
Vulcan Raven (final)
The Microwave
The End

Solid Snake vs The Hind-D in MGS1 is one of my favorites in the series. The thought of taking on a helicopter single-handedly scared the shit out of me as a kid. lol

I’d have taken a few of those out. Prefer Sonic over Sonic 2. Outrun should be in there. Maybe even Pong as millions of people had fun with that even if it was repetitive. Final Fight pipped any Streets of Rage game, although Streets of Rage had the better soundtrack. Too many to list l guess. To me, retro gaming is the 1980s, maybe going into early 1990s.

Agree that the generational gap is too broad to really make a strong list. Need to tighten the years a bit. Hard to compare Pac Man with N64 games.
