I remember back in the day when Famitsu would award a perfect score every year or two, this is making them look silly, this is their third or fourth perfect score in the past 12 months.

Apparently, Kid Icarus is on-par with Skyrim.

Famitsu is a joke in Japan. No reason for foreign countries to give it the respect it can't even earn in its homeland.

TheMrMadzen4415d ago

Metacritic is a joke. They don't give two shits about what reviews they put on their website. They mostly take all of the unreliable reviews and puts them on their site, forgetting about a lot of the reliable reviews.

knifefight4415d ago

@TheMrMadzen
What does Metacrapic have to do with this?

I'm actually asking.

@Green_Thunder
Did you read the massive load of comments by the Japanese that agree with the article you call a "troll" article? ;)

It's about the reviews, by the way.

We in Japan know the deal with Famitsu. It's a joke among us. I'm sorry man, but we don't get why anyone cares about their review scores.
Check the Japanese comments:

Translated here in case you can't read Japanese:

Americans *want* to think the Japanese hold Famitsu reviews in high regard, but dude, the truth is the opposite. I'm sorry.

@#1.3: Dude :D
Throw the japanese version of the letter from the second link into google translator :D

knifefight4415d ago (Edited 4415d ago )

If you speak Japanese, you know how terrible Google translate really is for it. ;)
Additionally, the final paragraph is what's called an "inside joke." It's a humor spot that you kind of need to know the history about.

Re: "Famitsu is the biggest gaming media source for reviews and new game info"
Info, sure. A lot comes from Famitsu and Dengeki and Gamega. But reviews? They're more treated like fortune cookies here. We're curious, but no one puts a lot of stock in them.

I know you're trying to project your own feelings and perceptions and make them into facts, but dude, without living here, it's just probably too hard for you to understand.

@Bobby (below)
Yes. Perfect Famitsu scores include Nintendogs, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy XII, Bayonetta, and Vagrant Story.

Didn't famitsu give final fantasy xiii-2 a perfect score? They're a joke as far as I'm concerned.

It comes to no surprise that Nintendo exclusive Kid Icarus Uprising landed a perfect score. This game has been on the radar of true perfection for a good long time now. This will for sure boost sales of the Nintendo 3DS and give the Nintendo elite gamers an amazing experience. Something there is no lack of on the Nintendo 3DS console.

Hopefully there will also be a Nintendo Wii U version of Kid Icarus in the near future. Which is highly likely due to the amazing reviews that Kid Icarus Uprising has achieved. If you invest in Nintendo you can always count on the big N to bring the heat.

This is only the beginning of a worldwide dominant performance by Nintendo. There are many great Nintendo in house exclusives to come for the Nintendo 3DS console. Look forward to many more awarding exclusive experiences to be announced this E3 2012.

Rated E For Everyone

I feel I shouldn't agree with you because of that "Nintendo elite gamer" snippet, but I find your intentional spoof comments hilariously Characteristic of n4g (As well as DarkSniper's, actually.)
I also agree with most of the rest of your comment... ^_^;

Nintendo 3DS Games We Still Love Playing Even Today

BLG writes: "While it didn’t sell as well as the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS was nonetheless a wonderful system. And, while this may be a hot take, it’s easily my favorite handheld. Even more than a decade removed from launch, the system’s library has so many titles that feel as fresh today as they did back at release. While it was hard to narrow down, these 30 Nintendo 3DS games are emblematic of the system’s success."

'Kid Icarus: Uprising’s' Story Soars High Above Nintendo’s Other Narratives

Nintendo has always been known for flaunting fine-tuned gameplay over full-blown narratives, however, Kid Icarus: Uprising literally flipped the script as it shined with its writing, story, and characters above all else.

I have to agree.
This game blowed my mind away at its time,
It was so epic in that little screen was pure magic. A real portable AAA game!
