I wouldn't mind seeing a new protagonist for Splinter Cell. To be honest, I think a lot of long-running franchises could use new ones.

morganfell4422d ago (Edited 4422d ago )

Actually I want to see Co-op through the entire game with Sam and Victor. Co-op is great but not tacked on as an after thought.

_Aarix_4421d ago (Edited 4421d ago )

In splinter cell conviction they did co-op right. If you had a friend to help you out then the experience was amazing. It was like a whole other game. But having it in the main story would be good too.

RaidensRising4422d ago

Sarah Fisher or better yet, Jade Raymond in bra and panties. Now that might be interesting - because it's a stealth game, none of the enemies would actually see her.

On a serious note. Grims would make for a decent main protagonist considering she gets b**** slapped by Sam in Conviction.

NYC_Gamer4422d ago

Splinter Cell needs to go back to its pure stealth roots

ShadesMoolah4422d ago

Wishful thinking perhaps. The old style stealth is a dying bbreed and doesnt make Ubi enough money. Sad but true.

NYC_Gamer4422d ago (Edited 4422d ago )

That's why i refuse to buy the new versions Ghost Recon/Rainbowsix /Splinter cell/.Ubi replaced real good core gameplay just to reach the casual market.

bunt-custardly4422d ago

Female Fisher ftw. Surprised we've not heard of a new game already since Conviction.

bahabeast4422d ago

i like the idea specialy since its on ps3 :)

Video: CVG predicts Microsoft's E3 - Durango, Splinter Cell 6, Ryse

CVG- "Word on the street is that Microsoft has been showing developers its next-generation hardware, and according to multiple sources close to the project the new Xbox console is codenamed Durango.

However, like Sony, Microsoft is still saying it won't be showing off its next home console at E3 next week. So what does it have in store for us? The obvious guesses are a little more Halo 4, perhaps some more Forza and a smidgen of Gears of War. For the less obvious guesses you'll have to watch our E3 prediction videos below."

Regardless of what we see; I'm pumped about Monday's press conference. I fly in tomorrow.

EVILDEAD3604339d ago

I'm impressed as a good a show on MS E# as anything that has been shown thus far. Fair assessments whether they are excited or not. Good stuff CVG..

... I hate videos that start up on their own.

I'm surprised they would publish this report AFTER the Judgment leak, which they clearly had no inkling of, despite making very confident predictions.

Just makes then look a bit silly.

interrergator4339d ago

well ubisoft is gona be at microsofts so i think that splinter cell might be there

I'll be skipping Blacklist since read the article and it states it will play like Conviction

Hufandpuf4342d ago

If it plays like Conviction then Ubi is more desperate than we thought.

NYC_Gamer4342d ago (Edited 4342d ago )

Ubisoft doesn't care about the Tom Clancy brand anymore....Used to love the tactical/stealth gameplay of these titles....

Rainbow Six
Ghost Recon
Splinter Cell

RioKing4342d ago

It's so sad because the Splinter Cell series was my favorite during the ps2 days...now it's all gone to sh!t :(

Seriously though, how awesome was Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory? God I missed those days....

FarCryLover1824342d ago (Edited 4342d ago )

Who in their right mind liked Conviction as a SPLINTER CELL game? It was fun, sure. But I can get third person shooting from other titles. If I play a SPLINTER CELL I want stealth, non-lethal options, ability to sneak past guards, I want to lockpick, I want NIGHT VISION, THERMAL VISION, EMF VISION....not sonar vision. :3

Conviction should just be its own franchise starring Sam Fisher and restart the SC series with a new agent. That'd be good....but will never happen :(

Deputydon4342d ago

If Blacklist comes out on PS3, I'll most definitely be getting it. While it wasn't nearly the same game as the first three Splinter Cell games, it was still an incredibly good game.

Thinking of it as something other than a SC game, it was the perfect blend of stealth, action, and story.

Personally, I don't see why people dislike it so much. I played almost the entire game like a stealth game, and all they really did was take away the instant game over just because you didn't play it perfect. Aside from a few select parts, you can play nearly the entire game as a stealth game.

KingSlayer4342d ago

How about Splinter Cell: Easy Button?

FarCryLover1824342d ago

I'm really loving how everyone disliked Conviction. Glad to know that I'm not the only one.

allyc4t4342d ago

I must be the only one who didn't hate Conviction. It wasn't as good as the first 3 games, but it was leaps and bounds ahead of Double Agent.

I wish they would bring back the 2v2 spies vs. mercs MP mode. I have no clue why they stopped.

FarCryLover1824342d ago

I liked it, but it was no Splinter Cell game. Also, what was that bad with Double Agent? The SC gameplay was still there and the last gen versions were amazing, and the current gen version was still pretty good. I didn't care for the regen health but it was still a "true" SC title.

NoobJobz4342d ago

I don't think people hated Conviction. I think people are disappointed with the direction it is going. It's turning into a shooter. I still thought conviction was fun but not even close to being as good as the originals. Chaos Theory was simply amazing and Double Agent and Conviction left me scratching my head.. Why can't they be more like the first 3 games?

jaymart2k4342d ago

Splinter Cell: ConViction co-op was amazing. Now that mode was classic stealth.

NoobJobz4342d ago (Edited 4342d ago )

I thought a few months ago that the game was going to be more like the originals. I could have sworn they interviewed the head person and they confirmed that? But if it is a sequel like this site claims then what a letdown.

I'll try to find a link to the video, but I swear that's what I remember hearing.

Go back to roots and make multi-platform

DigitalRaptor4343d ago

I said this when there were rumours about a sequel to Conviction, that there's not much reason for Ubisoft to ignore the PS3 audience. Not anymore, especially when they released the Splinter Cell HD trilogy on PS3 only last year. Any technical reasons? Can't imagine so. Unless Microsoft has handed them a heavy cheque, I see no reason. Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed is good enough for PS3, so Splinter Cell 6 without a release on that platform is an anomaly.

cstyle4342d ago

The same holds true for Metal Gear Solid.

SAE4342d ago

No , the size of the dvd what hold kojima to release his games on the xbox360 but i hope he release his games on all possable consoles to let people experianc his amazing games , i also hope he find a way to not effict the ps3 version of his. Next game

DigitalRaptor4342d ago (Edited 4342d ago )

And the Metal Gear Solid games are no longer exclusive.

MGS4 is though and I think it would have been on 360 if the game hadn't been big enough to fill a dual layer Blu-ray.

otherZinc4342d ago

Oh please. This game originated on the original XBOX.

The PS3 doesnt have enough RAM to be co-op through a campaign with an open stage. If a PS3 game is to have campaign co-op, its very constricted. People can get mad but its the truth.

Ninja Gaiden 3 & Ghost Recon:Future Soldier is ruined due to simultaneous development & those of us that have relentlessly played these games know the difference.

Rainbow 6:Patriots & Splinter Cell:New, if it isn't exclusive to 360, I'm not buying them for the 1st time in the history of the franchise.

I wont throw my money away.

Solid_Malone4342d ago (Edited 4342d ago )

whoa dude, if you care about those issues so much, why not get it for pc? The experience will be better, nothing toned down. And plus you can still use a x360 controller.

TheSuperior 4343d ago

I hope so because i really enjoy splinter cell games. :)

bahabeast4342d ago

i need it on ps3 and im still waiting for conviction also.

TENTONGUN4342d ago

i want the same exact thing. on the original xbox it was above and beyond anything graphicaly. coviction was just average. bring back the gadgets, knife and split jump. if they bring in anything from conviction, id say one up it and add multiple enemy takedowns like the bourne movies. ubi montreal was and kinda still is my favorite developer. i hope its them making it and they do it justice

DiRtY4342d ago

UbiSoft will be on MS stage. So probably Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed III or Rainbow Six with exclusive DLC of full exclusives.
