It makes me happy to see that nintendo exclusive franchises contributed heavily to the top 10 highest grossing videogames.

Now do you understand why we call it WOW!!

$1.5 billion yearly is the main reason every dam publisher has ran out and tried to make a WoW clone which has left us with 50 million MMO's out there.

Also I wonder how much money Starcraft 2 is making cause S. Koreans pay by the hour to play it and SC2 in Korea is like CRACK!

My only complaint is Why No Team Fortress 2...........I'm sure they sell like $2 Billion dollars a year in Hats! j/k

sticky doja4443d ago

They didn't list MW3. It sold over a billion the first week it was out.

Clayman4444d ago

I guess they didn't count Wii Sports.

GameTavern4443d ago

There's really no way to count it, since like 80% of its sales includes a system.

The worst GTA is the highest figures.

LX-General-Kaos4444d ago

Yea its pretty amazing how that worked out. I dont understand what happened but im glad that it did. Rockstar will have no problem keeping the GTA games coming well off into the future.

YodaCracker4443d ago

Are you talking about the highest rated game of the last decade?

BattleTorn4443d ago

The *newest GTA has the highest figures.

I couldn't disagree more. I've been playing GTA games for the past 15 years and I can say, without a doubt that GTA4 was the best of the series in my opinion. First time I've ever even finished a GTA game. The characters were the best of the series, voice acting second to none, the story line was fantastic, the portrayal of immigrant community life and the contrast against the traditional american dream. Add to those strengths outstanding gameplay, a huge city to explore, varied missions...it's hands down one of the best games I've ever played since I started playing videogames 30 years ago. And I didn't even play the multiplayer, which I understand was excellent as well.

I'll never understand the hate this game garnered in some circles. It was an absolute masterpiece as a videogame and raised the bar for story telling in gaming while it notched another win for games to be taken serious as the art form they truly are.

By contrast, Black ops was a steaming pile. I hated everything about that sloppy, corridor shooter with it's one dimensional characters and hackneyed "plot". It had a serviceable multiplayer, but I'll never understand it's popularity. One of the worst entries in the COD franchise in my opinion.

And on that note, I think I'll go take a break from Skyrim and finish playing through MW3's campaign.

i don't even have to read it to know theres gonna' be CoD involved.. *sigh*.. what is gaming coming too..

LX-General-Kaos4443d ago

COD is involved.. But instead of downing COD you should pay tribute to the non COD games that did make the list.

" [WoW] has had a base of around 11 million paying subscribers for more than half a decade. This alone brings in over $1.5 billion per year."

$1,500,000,000 / 11,000,000 = $136.36 / 12month = $11/month

Holy Shit!! That math actually works out.

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
