I agree with you, but please don't be afraid to use more compound sentences in your articles.

The RE6 trailer was fantastic, movement to action to attention to detail looks like amazing roller coaster ride. The new graphics look pretty darn amazing too.

As for butt hurt people that saying RE lost its horror touch it has since RE4...RE4 Revolutinised the genre and made it into somthing new. I played all of them and yes RE 1-3 were great. But this new direction they took lost its horror and suspense elements in favour of a more action orientated game. Which in return will get more people interested and more sales. Looking at market today where call of duty makes the most money we can see people will prefer a action game.

I would prefer horror elements too as remembering RE and what it is now is somthing really different. But hey if its a good game then willing to play it. Even though its nothing like olden games.

Looking at 3DS RE revelations looking great too. We will just have to wait and see if it is a great game the trailer is great.

"Revolutinised the genre and made it into somthing new"

"But this new direction they took lost its horror and suspense elements in favour of a more action orientated game"

And you DON'T see a contradiction in there? They didn't make survival horror into "something new", they just turned Resident Evil into an action series. Simple as that. So RE4 didn't revolutionize survival horror, it really only helped with the evolution of third person shooting mechanics. That, and QTEs (shudder).

"Which in return will get more people interested and more sales. Looking at market today where call of duty makes the most money we can see people will prefer a action game. "

That magical, really, but WHY does any of THAT matter to YOU? Are you a shareholder at Capcom? Why are you concerned about their profits? If they have to stop churning out good games in order to make profit, then f**k that. That's not good for consumers OR the market, it's only good for Capcom. What's the point in giving them money only to have them continue to disappoint everybody?

Nobody is "butthurt" (that is also a very old and juvenile saying that needs to die), everyone is just gob-smacked by the blatant disregard for the wants and needs of their actual fans in favour of potentially attracting a fan base who notoriously don't want to play anything without "super hardcore real-life soldiers and war stuff," least of all anything with sci-fi/fantasy elements ("nerd stuff").

They're out of touch. That's it in a nut shell. They've yet to produce a single gem this generation (with the possible exception of SF4), with the quality bar sliding more and more with every release. Why should I be excited for the next flop?

Einstein defined insanity as "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." There's a great deal of wisdom in that.

sikbeta4473d ago

"Revolutinised the genre and made it into somthing new" -> Late to the party, that was RE4 like 8 years ago lol

O-T

Don't feel skeptical about RE6, the franchise changed with RE4 and keep doing it with games after that one, everyone should get used to this change

OmegaSlayer4473d ago

I really think this will be one of the best games of 2012.
This excites me more than The Last Of Us

CGI-Quality4473d ago (Edited 4473d ago )

Why even mention The Last Of Us? Not confirmed for 2012, nor is it survival horror (or anything like RE6 will be, for that matter). XD

OT: I agree with his sentiments, although the way the article is written, it makes the idea seemed a bit jumbled. Nevertheless, I'm not a fan of this action-oriented era of Resident Evil we are in now, but as a fan of the series, I can't turn my back on it! Roll on Nov 20!

Errol James4472d ago

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks

Jovahkiin4473d ago (Edited 4473d ago )

Personally, I think its gonna be amazing.

Edit: Yeah the article looks like it was wrote by a twelve year old for an essay competition... short and sweet sentences.

StanSmith4473d ago

You only have to play Resident Evil Revelations to see that Capcom is back on track with the franchise. Resi 6 is going to be fantastic!

Coolmanrico4473d ago (Edited 4473d ago )

I'm not, Resident Evil 6 looks like it going to be a great game. They sold me with the first trailer.

Rather or not it going to be the Resident Evil fans want is yet to be seen. But Leon is in and fans seem to think every game he is in is gold. (Even though I disagree. RE4 suffered all the same problem that RE5 had with the exception of Co-op yet it a classic and 5 the worst of the series.)

StanSmith4473d ago

Totally agree. RE4 was nothing like RE1-3. RE4 and 5 are very similar yet RE5 is treated like it is the red headed stepchild of the franchise while RE4 gets lots of praise. I think those hailing 4 as being different from 5 need to go back and replay it as it is almost the same game.

Capcom took an action direction with Resi 4. It didn't begin with Resi 5.

D3mons0ul4473d ago

No, it just began to suck with RE5.

4 was a good game, stop hating

Coolmanrico4473d ago

RE4 began to change everything about Resident Evil and RE5 just picked up where 4 left off.

RE5 is a good game too, so I can tell you to stop hating as well.

Angrymorgan4473d ago

I want the original scare factor back, I miss classic resi games, however I can understand why Capcom changed all that because fixed camera angles and slow movement wouldnt appeal to the masses today.

I just hope they have a few Tight, dark interiors in it to give some good scares.

StanSmith4473d ago

You must try Resident Evil:Revelations on 3DS. I downloaded the demo just yesterday and it has the scare factor as well as plenty of tight dark interiors.

Angrymorgan4473d ago

Thanks for the recommendation :) +

Yeah I figured it would be ordered like this. For me Leons best game was his debut. RE2.

There Will Never Be Another Resident Evil 6 (And That Sucks)

A rough gem that may never get the proper treatment it deserves.

Terry_B399d ago

^^ I don't want what the author was smoking.

-Foxtrot398d ago

It’s this thing where after enough time people start coming out to defend bad games for some strange reason

I mean hey if you liked it good for you but it was a f****** awful RE game.

Capcom are finally back on track and now people are crying about their shitty mistakes? No thanks.

RpgSama397d ago

I'd take a full blown remake of RE6 based around a GREATLY expanded Leon part and make it even more horror.

That might be something I would be interested in, do not care about any of the other parts of that game.

MadLad397d ago

I couldn't even get through the demo.
Years later I bought it for $3 for PC. I played about 5 minutes into it and uninstalled it.

babadivad397d ago (Edited 397d ago )

RE6 was better than 5. RE6 just took the series to the conclusion that started with 4.

RE4 was the inaugural title in the action game trilogy.

RE9 will be the likely end of the first person psychological thriller trilogy.

They'll switch it up for RE10 or more likely titled RE-X.

hotnickles397d ago

5 is vastly better than 6 imo

TheEnigma313397d ago

RE5 is way better than 6. Stop lying to yourself

FallenAngel1984398d ago (Edited 398d ago )

“But all this is solely with respect to how fans felt back in 2013 when Resident Evil 6 had just been released. The game resulted in the series getting indefinitely killed off until 5 years later when we got Resident Evil 7 and balance was restored yet again. ”

1.) Resident Evil 6 came out in 2012, not 2013

2.) A series getting killed off means no titles at all released in a time period. Silent Hill, Dead Space, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve & Siren fans would love to see how you can say RE was on the same level of dormancy. In that 5 year time period we had a number of remasters that kept the series alive and kicking. RE1 02ms remaster even broke sales records during the period between RE6 and RE7.

3. Way to disrespect Resident Evil: Revelations 2. It was released during that RE6-RE7 period. It along with its predecessor were mainline titles that kept the horror roots of the series alive in comparison to RE5 and RE6. RE: R1 in particular even introduced the ability to walk and shoot into the series, a feature we can all be grateful for that in modern RE titles. The director RE: R1 later went on to direct RE7 and the director of RE: R2 later went to to direct the RE2 & RE4 remakes.

Immagaiden398d ago (Edited 398d ago )

“Resident Evil 6 is often maligned as the worst entry in the Resident Evil series and is cited as the cause behind the long death of the franchise.”

Titles in the Resident Evil series such as Survivor, Gaiden, Dead Aim, Outbreak, Operation Raccoon City, Umbrella Corps, & Resistance we’re received far worse than RE6.

And death of the franchise?

RE6 was still one of the most commercially successful games in the series, guaranteeing the franchise’s future. Compare how underwhelming sales of Dead Space 3, Silent Hill: Downpour. Alone in the Dark: Illumination, Dino Crisis 3, Fatal Frame: Maiden in Black Water, Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2, and Metroid: Other M which caused their respective series to go into a long period of dormancy without any rereleases to even keep activity up.

RE however still had a significant number of titles released and rereleased after RE6. Not only that but development for RE7 started a short time after its predecessor came out, meaning there was never a development time that the series could be considered dead. There hasn’t been a single year that Capcom stopped either developing, releasing, or rereleasing Resident Evil games. Let’s not act like the 5 year period between RE6 and RE7 is such a longer time compared to the 4 year period between RE4 and RE5 as well as RE7 and RE8. We can pretty much expect RE9 in either 2025 or 2026, and you can be certain that Capcom will still release other RE tiles leading up to it

TheEnigma313397d ago (Edited 397d ago )

Man go some where with this. Only a few like this game. Why would they remake a garbage game no one likes risking money because it won't sell? RE 6 is dumpster drippings, sorry.

MIDGETonSTILTS17397d ago

It wasn’t that good, even if you enjoyed it like me.
