Star Wars the Old Republic: Unable to Install for Many Gamers

There is a disturbance in the force but unfortunately BioWare has yet to admit it. Visit the SWTOR forums and you will find an unnerving amount of posts from customers unable to even install the game. The questionable launcher combined with unstable patches have created a nightmare for many, including myself.

One bonus to this: more time with Skyrim!

"many"? how many are "many"? did you poll them?

The fact that it happens to you and a few others on a forum (that has no statistical value whatsoever and is full of trolls anyway) has nothing to do with "many". Get some actual figures, then do come back.

Bioware hurry up and release sw:tor in Nz

Abriael, The first thread (1000 plus posts) was deleted by Bioware "supposedly" because it reached the threshold for posts on the forum...that's a lot of gamers with an unplayable game. This is a much larger problem than most realize and more than BW wants to admit. If your system is running without random crashes or even installing for that matter, consider yourself lucky. The second thread on this is closing in on 300 posts (and a sticky) as we speak and will more than likely reach the same threshold in no time.

Mutley416, I have tried re-installs, re-imaging, launcher repairs and done everything in their list to resolve it with no luck. I'm running a new Alienware rig by the way that has had zero issues. Hoping the maintenance that is taking place tonight will fix a lot of these issues. Stay tuned... =)

I loved this game and have played since launch but don't let this article fool you, this game is a step above life support. While they are still technically updating the game, the updates are few and far between and there is a significant lack of quality control, so many little bugs that have been present for years.

The updates felt flimsy to me also. Stopped playing in 2021.

This game got a huge update last year didn't it with more content?

PapaBop390d ago

They promoted it as an expansion yet offered like 3-4 hours of content. The game is amazing and easily one of the best Star Wars games ever made but content drops are so few and far between.
