for hardcore? maybe.. It was easy.. for me MGS3 was harder

yesmynameissumo4511d ago

I loved MGS4, but agree, it wasn't overly difficult. MGS3 was just...fantastic. It's flat out a series every gamer should play.

OmegaSlayer4511d ago

I think Hideo meant storywise.
I'm sure it wasn't about difficulty setting.

Venoxn4g4511d ago

maybe :) still all of them are great.. I still wish that kojima released MGS: acid 1 & 2 on 3DS in a single cartridge, or separate.. better 2in1 :D

You do realize he's talking about the overall tone and design choices and not the difficulty right? Learn to keep your egos in check and read the article first...

"Discussing the ideas behind the sequence, Kojima told NowGamer: "First and foremost, MGS4 is a game that I created for hardcore MGS fans who have known and loved the series since MGS1. Therefore, I wanted players to recall their memories of playing MGS1 and to look back on how they matured together with the series.""

TheCopyNinja4511d ago

You obviously didnt read the article.

Venoxn4g4511d ago (Edited 4511d ago )

yeah, I really didn't :) still MGS3 is my favourite along with MGS1 and Twin Snakes :)

Ghost_Sparta4511d ago (Edited 4511d ago )

A lot has changed since MGS3 was lauched...I remember, like it was yesterday, when everybody bashed MGS3 when it was launched: "its boring, no memorable, the most disapoiting MGS ever...bla bla bla"...even the reviewers were harsh whith this game...
Suddendly, a year ago, MGS3 became the best and more difficult and "even better than MGS", and "MGS2 sucks", "MGS4 is Easy", etc, etc.....
I wonder: what changed in these years?
PS: MGS3 is my favourite MGS game, even I LOVED EVERY MGS games!
PS2:I'm a Metal Gear hardcore fan...because of this I'm writing this post

GraveLord4511d ago

By saying it was for the hardcore fans he's not talking about difficulty.

Shadow Moses bit is genius - will Rising be that creative I wonder?

WiIIiam4511d ago

Despite its flaws, I think it's got more heart and soul than any other game this gen.

Probably The Last Guardian or FFVSXIII will top MGS4.

Since The Contra Revival Shows Konami Still Cares, How About A New Castlevania?

Hanzala from eXputer: "Contra: Operation Galuga is a classic revival done right, but why hasn't Konami done the same yet for the bigger and more popular Castlevania?"

shinoff218315d ago

Slowdown. Let them get these suikoden games done first. Alot of us are still waiting for those

Castlevania fighting game for wii needs to be remade plz

Aphrodia15d ago

well, the new C ontra was made by Wayforward, who have been taking sooooo many of these classic franchises and making new iterations of them. Imo they aren't very good at it. And I don't see operation galuga being a large enough success to possibly give them Castlevania.

I’d have taken a few of those out. Prefer Sonic over Sonic 2. Outrun should be in there. Maybe even Pong as millions of people had fun with that even if it was repetitive. Final Fight pipped any Streets of Rage game, although Streets of Rage had the better soundtrack. Too many to list l guess. To me, retro gaming is the 1980s, maybe going into early 1990s.

Agree that the generational gap is too broad to really make a strong list. Need to tighten the years a bit. Hard to compare Pac Man with N64 games.
