PC gamers, meet 7554; the first major video game developed by a Vietnamese company

DSOGaming writes: "Let’s get one thing straight; this is a low-budget FPS title. Still with us? Good. Let’s now get another thing straight; this is the first major video game developed by a Vietnamese company. Now normally I wouldn’t be bothered with such a title but come on, these guys deserve a spotlight for at least trying. So, PC gamers, meet 7554; a first person shooter set against the historical backdrop of the climatic conclusion to the first Indochina War between the Vietnam People’s Army revolutionaries and the oppressing French army."

Graphics remind me a lot of Crysis 1. Looks pretty good for a budget title, lets just hope it doesn't go the path of Sniper: Ghost Warrior with good graphics and crap gameplay.

I'd play it. Then they will make one where we get to kill Americans in Vietnam and set up traps where they fall on poo sticks.

looks leagues better then Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta "I'm a shameless ripoff of Uncharted". n_____n BTW did anyone see that guy with the sword in the trailer? That was awesome lol.

Very interesting game I will check it out.

Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.

Not a half bad looking game coming out of Vietnam. Of course the graphics could be better, and the framerate improved, as well as the bland Brown/Grey color palet.

However it looks like a valiant effort that just may be worth it in the end. Lets hope the fact that its a budget title also gives it budget pricing.

Console XP: 7554 Review

Matija Mandic wrote: "It seems that no matter how much the hardware evolves and new ideas pop into minds of game developers, one certain specific genre is guaranteed to have a massive audience hungry for annihilating hordes of digital foes in the most generic way possible – the shooter. So basically, when this certain inexperienced, but ambitious new team got started with using their own game engine, the first natural thing that came to their minds is making a heavily-scripted, dramatic story-driven military shooter in the style of older World War II-based Call of Duty titles. As if we didn’t have enough of those by now. Welcome to 7554, a pretentiously named, but horribly flawed FPS reeking of amateurism and over-ambitiousness at every corner, as if it was screaming “WE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MAKE A GOOD GAME YET!”

Award-winning? For what? Mediocrity? Seriously, I HAVE played it and it IS an incredibly standard game. It doesn't deviate at all and the translations are just abysmal.

However, it does have some grittiness to it. Though, it's the kind that was in World at War. So... if you want that kind of grit, go play World at War, not this. :/
