can anyone explain who the hell these akb girls are? i read a comment long ago, about them being porn stars or w/e. who are they, cause i know my fair share of Jpop singers and i never heard of them until now. japan keeps sweating them like if theyre the Beatles

They're the most popular girl group in Japan at the moment. There's 59 of them (though they're split into 4 groups) and they are supposed to represent a "classroom" of schoolgirls, each with different personalities, hobbies and talents. They're supposed to represent normal everyday girls, which is why they're so popular amongst teenage girls and young women (and some men).

That's also why they're used in a lot of advertisements (game ads included), because anything AKB48 promotes ends up having a big boost in sales.

ah okay. explains a lot. though i find it a bit perverse/childish for some reason. i guess thats why i found the video a bit odd. im also not new to the asian culture or humor/appearance.

That's a fair enough opinion. Idol groups like this are usually aimed towards younger Japanese audiences, sort of like how Justin Bieber is aimed towards younger audiences in the West. :)

lol Not a bad ad, i wish we had ads like this over here but people would think it's all weird and stuff but in reality it's not weird at all it's fing awesome! one of many reasons why i love Japan so much! particularly anything Korean or Japanese is pure greatness i say.

Review - Taiko no Tatsujin: Nintendo Switch Version (Switch) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Taiko no Tatsujin for the Switch is a nice option if you're into music games and if you're into Japanese music in general. Even though the game will receive an English localization patch in a few weeks, it is completely playable even if you know nothing about the Japanese language."

Wolfenstein not even in the top 30. Doesn't bode well for AAA third party games on the Switch
