Sequels That Should Have Been: Knights of Honor 2

"Knights of Honor (2004) – what a horribly cheesy title – can best be summed up as “Crusader Kings for denser people”. That’s not a bad thing, because it made it far more accessible than practically all of Paradox’s games. I could sit on the throne in my Hungarian empire, and feel like the God-Emperor I was, without having spent hours figuring out how to make my armies invincible. That’s not to say that Knight’s of Honor lacked challenge, it was simply intended to be played in a more – gasp! – casual manner."

"what a horribly cheesy title" what a load of bullshit, the game was Legit, it had its problems but it was pretty damn good, my and my buddies played it a while ago and we all enjoyed it more than all the civilizations or other mainstream games.

I wish they would make sequel and improve on the previous idea of the game, then it would be golden.

Uh, what? "Knights of Honor" is a rather cheesy title for a game. The game itself was supremely entertaining, like I state in the article, but not without its problems. If they were to be fixed in a hypothetical sequel, greatness would be achieved.

Vladplaya4554d ago

It wasn't cheezy title. I give you example of "cheezy title", Stronghold 3, now THAT'S a cheezy title, because nothing works in that game.

Everything worked pretty well in KoH, and just few minor problems wouldn't make that game "cheezy", especially when you could simply avoid abusing AI and make the game more interesting for yourself.

The game would be horribly cheesy title if you would know that its broken the minute you start playing it, which is not the case, you can play through entire game and enjoy it quite a bit.

I loved Lord of the Realms 2, this game looks like that.

It looks good

@Vladplaya (for some reason can't reply to your comment, so writing it down here.

Definition of "cheesy" from Wiktionary: "of poor quality through being overdramatic, excessively emotional or clichéd, trite, contrived, shoddy"
Synonyms: corny, tacky <--- (in the light of things I should have used one of the synonyms instead, as their meaning are probably clearer)

The way "cheesy" is used in the article does not refer in any way to the quality of the game, which you appear to think with your Stronghold 3 example (which is not a "cheesy" game, but merely a poor game through what you describe.)

"Cheesy" refers to the overly clichéd and overly dramatic - to use the example from Wiktionary - TITLE of the game. "Knights of Honor" sounds almost childish. And that's by no means a bad thing. It's just cheesy. Cheesy things can be fun too. In fact, when things are intentionally cheesy they can be quite entertaining. In the case of "Knights of Honor ", though, it appears to be unintentional, and thus hilarious in its own way.

I mean it wasn't that intelligent to begin with, release it exclusive to the system that doesn't buy games. Plus it was on gamepass if I'm not mistaken. It's been a minute since I had mine on cause I just wrapped up chrono cross on ps5 but remember looking forward to checking this out on the Xbox. Try it on xbox if I liked it I would've bought on ps

mjchitown187d ago

dude go somewhere with that hating on xbox crap. you just admit yourself you wasnt buy the game on xbox , you played it on gamepass and buy it on ps5. you sounds dumb . you silent on forspoken and FF16 didnt sale good. and many other games. keep eating that foot in your mouth

shinoff2183187d ago (Edited 187d ago )

Ff16 sold fairly well.

I prefer to buy on the console who isn't openly trying to kill physical media sorry for your feelings. Ms has been trying to kill physical for some time. Nintendo and sony are the ones still working with smaller publishers. So yes I will buy a game preferably on ps when possible. You act like I just admitted to murder lol. Relax

mjchitown187d ago (Edited 187d ago )

@shinoff2183
lies. the ceo said himself FF16 didnt sale good. stop the cap. and you can buy them games on xbox. so you full of crap. and what you mean Nintendo and sony are the ones still working with publishers.???? what the hell are you talking about dude xbox works with small publishers. you trying to move the goalpost to fix your narrative. so gonna ignored sony ps5 all digital system huh . rumor next nintendo system will be a digital also with two version.

shinoff2183187d ago (Edited 187d ago )

Really xbox works with smaller publishers. I've heard numerous times xboxs minimum print is to high which is why you don't see smaller publishers like limited run games, special reserve etc work with xbox physical releases. I've read as high as 50k meanwhile Sony and Nintendo have had prints of 1k. Some wonder why smaller publisher haven't worked with ms on smaller releases. That's exactly why.

I assume you just don't know wtf your talking about. And again as someone who prefers physical video games why would or why should I give my hard earned money to a company who has since the announcement of xbox one been out to get rid of physical games. Gtfoh

Far as final fantasy 16 it's been stated It sold fine, would of sold more on pc sure, but it wouldnt of sold well on xbox, we know this, thank you ms. Ms admitted to games bot selling well on that platform already. Here's a newsflash to ya though psssss I didn't really like ff16 much anyway. So that's cute of you.

shinoff2183187d ago

To clarify maybe a little I'm talking about smaller publishers that produce physical games. Not just any publisher
