Typical GTA fun, but notice the 4 digit numbers on the house? 2405.
Henceforth, the date of release is 24.05.2012. And Rockstar Games is aiming to not lose that date.

The old dude
the dude who was hiking with the chicks
and the black dude getting chased by police in the car.
I dont know if that was the same dude getting chased on foot but if it was, theres more than likely character customization because he had some crazy tats etc.

On PC GTA IV you can get up to 100 cars on the screen at any given time, that is without mods.

Extremely excited, wanting same day PC release please.

Also from all the shots its got to be San Andreas not just Los Santos.

I'm betting all that footage from the trailer was from the PC version.

If they had problems fitting GTA IV into the meager 512mb of RAM on the PS3/Xbox 360, how on Earth are they going to fit more cars, visuals and NPCs into one area at a time with better graphics in GTA V? Something's not adding up.

I don't care how much you optimize a game there are limits to hardware and Rockstar seems to be acting fishy about the platform announcements.

only thing that would dissapoint me is if the main guys a total "family man" and turns down hookers like red dead guy did. I hope this "family man" guy gets his kids killed right away. dont need badgage.

All this speculation is just getting absurd now. The older man is the main character, the other guy is just a character model that is used more than once, he actually appears at the same time with another guy who looks just like him. This isn't new for GTA there has always been multiples.

The main character clearly isn't Tommy seeing as Tommy would be 60+ years old.

Also, if you just do a tiny bit of research you'd already know that characters from the old games wont appear.. because this is a whole new world, if they were going to appear we'd have seen Claude (GTA 3 guy) or other characters from GTA3 in GTA4 seeing as the games take place at the exact same time. Also, they surely wouldn't have some other guy voice Tommy, you can just look up Ray Liotta and you'll see everything he's going to be doing all the way to 2013.

This is a new character. Not an old one.

Darth, did you even read what I said? Do you recall ever coming across the mob families from GTA3 in GTA4? No, you know why? Because it's a completely different world. Do you think a few years would make long standing crime families disappear? The Leone family would have been in GTA4 if they were going to cross the games over. Instead it was all new families, with all new characters.

GTA5 will be the same.. the only past characters we'll see in GTA5 are characters we saw in GTA4.

lol why is he thumbed down? he is right, it's so obvious that it's not tommy vercetti he hasn't the slightest italian accent at all, age difference, and facial difference.

Why would R* re-use the same character? Tommy Vercetti is a legend in GTA and it's best to leave his character alone in Vice City nostalgia.

Anyway they might bring all the old characters back through a GTA Legends DLC pack, now that would be EPIC.

There's three of the playable characters from other GTA games in the trailer: Tommy, Niko (holding the sign), and CJ (running away from the police). I wonder how that will play out?

this game is set in 2012, so CJ will be 46 years old. That guy doesn't look 46 to me

If Interstate 5 is in the game, chances are Los Santos isn't the only city.

I think RockStar will have learned from their missteps in GTA IV. The focus is not on the new platform (graphics, physics, and whatnot) but back to the story, gameplay, and innovation in GTA world.

The first trailer is always exciting. Hope they can pull off the multiple characters... Maybe this was trailer 1 of 3? Each has it's own story in different city (usually three territories/islands) and they then get jumbled up and cross paths together later in the game? Could be interesting.

The story and game play were a huge step up in IV.

Features were missing, but as a foundation to further GTA games, IV was and is a good game.

They missed a few things, but they did A LOT right with IV.
