I'm actually quite surprised how good the 360 version looks, especially since the Beta looked downright terrifying. Only thing that bothers me is, there's a lot of really low res textures next to high res textures after you install the HD pack. Not THAT big of a deal, but it hurts the atmosphere at certain points.

Yea, I was gonna say the same exact thing. There are inconsistencies in textures, and some texture seem to take forever to load. The lighting looks superb though, and I think the gameplay is bar none for the current FPS genre. I'm sure it looks a little prittier on playstation, as I heard DICE were optimizing each version for its specific platform.

I concur that is looks very good on the consoles. WAY better than the beta, as expected. But yeah, there are some hitches. Still has some screen tearing, and sometimes objects pop-in, but it doesn't impact the gameplay.

It's not high-end PC quality, obviously, but it's still damn good for a cross-platform console title. I can't expect them to have done much better than this. It's sure it purty.

This game is the most optimized pc game I have ever played. I ran the single player on ultra with no aa on my laptop with no problems.

However there are inconsistencies in the textures, even in the pc version on max.

I bought it on ps3 also to play with most of my friends and that version looks surprisingly good compared to the pc. Obviously the pc looks better but I have to give kudos to Dice for their coding.

It cracks me up how for years people counted out the 360's graphical power. Yet when the most photorealistic game ever comes out, the 360 has a version that looks better than the PS3's version.

I will personally be getting the PS3 version since the people who I want to play it with also have the PS3 version, but love it or hate it, you have to acknowledge that the 360 can still hang with the best of them.

thereapersson...I call it like I see it. Based on what I saw in the video, the 360 version looked better. But now that I've seen the Lens of Truth full Head2Head analysis, I think the PS3 version is looking better, which is good since I will be getting that version.

You know the good thing about owning both consoles? You can be totally unbiased as to which version is the best, and get that version. You don't have to be a fanboy in the least. Maybe you should try it.

The Atari 800 will use both, that way you only need to type *.exe to boot from DOS and the tape deck hits you with the lifelike audio......only thing that sucks is if you die you have to rewind the tape back

The last PC I bought ran for close to 6 years, it was still capable of running things like BF3 but sadly the motherboard died. Decided to build a new PC, this one will run as long if not longer and it'll keep playing games for the same amount of time too.

Now as for investment, I bought PS3 at launch so that was like £425 or something like that, can't recall the exact figure but it was damn expensive. This new PC cost me £720 to build. A little more expensive than my initial outlay for the PS3 but the PC is where I will play multi plat games, the PC version being cheaper than their console counterparts.

Over the next 6 or so years I'll save more than the approximate £300 extra this PC cost. I'll save money and my PC will most certainly not be obsolete. You're classing PC's being obsolete after a short time because new and more powerful hardware is available. Your terminology is wrong, obsolete would refer to the likes of DDR1 RAM...that is obsolete. What you mean to say is outdated but by the same logic all console hardware is now also outdated.

I wish people would get over the whole stigma that PC gaming is somehow ultimately more expensive than console gaming. Simply not true at all. Console peripherals and accessories is something people spend tons of money on, console games are more expensive and some consoles you even have to pay to play online with.

It is totally possible to build a PC capable of playing games for the same length of time as a console for a decent price and you'll reclaim the extra from the initial outlay in money saved from being able to buy a cheaper version of the game.

You don't HAVE to spend a fortune to have a good gaming PC and you don't HAVE to constantly upgrade in order to run the newest games. This is a myth.

Overall, they all look quite nice, especially for a game running on 6+ year old systems (PS3 & 360).

I did notice at 14 seconds that the inside of the pilot's helmet was significantly worst on PC. The reason I bring that up is because event with the clear winner, flaws can be found if you look hard enough. They all stack up well.

DICE did a great job with all these platforms, and I believe that is what we should all focus on as gamers.
Most games I see PC gamers chest thumping over only have visual improvements, not really worth IMO the time and effort of having a PC.

I believe for BF3 the better argument for the PC is the 64 player count MP. That is a gameplay changer for sure. I've been having a blast with the PS3 version, I can just imagine the 64 player madness.

Overall, I think this game is worth the money regardless of platform.

Now if I could only learn to fly the helicopters without crashing. LOL. Game on guys/ladies.

Anyways of course BF3 looks better on PC and its true that PC gaming isn’t as expensive as a few years back. I just don’t like that you got to play the game via battle log and Origins. When you get in the game there is like 3 windows open and if you want to switch from coop, multiplayer or the campaign you got to quit and then go back on battle log then click the different mode you wanna play in.

Of course I saw the game running on my bros computer and its looks fantastic. He is using 2 HIS ATI Radeon HD 6870 in crossfire that he got for only 300$ together on special. And he’s got everything maxed out without any problems.

Personally I game on my PS3 and 360, but I didn’t get BF3… I’m just getting tired of modern day shooters… Maybe I will next year, but right now all I want is Uncharted 3 and SaintsRowTheThird :S :P !

But Uncharted 3 for my PS3 will do the job :) Oh and BTW,Battlefield 3 is one of the most beautiful game ever made on a console.Killzone 3,Halo,Resistance,Call of duty,Crysis 2 are a lot less beautiful than this game.Top 3 best graphics this year for sure!

Oh and btw,dont judge BF3 on consoles if you only saw the beta.The retail game is far better overall! Not a lot far behind the PC version like pc nerds fanboy says! Console is much better for gaming and made for that.My uses of a PC is for internet that's it! Wolrd of warcraft was the only game i played and will never touch that again.

This article wouldn't utterly suck if the comparison was an actual comparison. It's just a few videos of gameplay shown side by side and virtually indistinguishable from each other. What it should be is a commentary that actually explains the differences or lack of. IGN is just farming the current BF3 hype.
