What Will Battlefield 3′s First Week Sales Be?

Battlefield 3 is obviously one of the biggest games this year. While it won’t beat Modern Warfare 3 in the sales department, it will still be a juggernaut. Since we have access to pre-order charts and the sales of previous games, we can make accurate assumptions of just what the first week sales will be.

just checked VGChartz. Black Ops had about 860 000 pre orders a week before launch. on PS3.

I'd say between 2.5-3.5m at the least going off pre-order numbers (prolly 5m after a month), I imagine the PC sales will be pretty good though so it could easily be higher since most people don't really pre-order PC games because you can buy them the minute they launch digitally.

And after BF3 drops and people start to hear about the next BF game and that gets more attention, Call of Duty Number 109382854 will be lucky to be on par with Battlefield and the shift of power of the #1 FPS (Sales-wise, as gameplay matching would be a severe mismatch as we all know) will be completed.

Modern Warfare 2 sold 5 million in its first week.........on Xbox 360 alone.

For comparison lets look at Bad Company 2 sales in its first week..........820k.

I expecct BF3 to at least double that on Xbox 360. If reviews are really good then it might even triple it but this will be highly unlikely since a lot of people are going to buy MW3.

Look at the numbers of Bad Company 2 numbers. From what I remember I think it was well over the 6 million mark on both consoles excluding the PC versions.

I think Battlefield 3 will do better than BC2.

I'll say 3-4 Million first week including preorders, 5-6.5 Million about 3 weeks in and that'll top it out but it'll grow slowly to about 7.5+ million by the end of the year as word spreads and BF3 takes in a large number of sales for the holiday rush and we hear nothing about Call of Duty because BF3 will be THE game of the year that everybody'll want.

I may be a little hopeful, but it surely is possible after what I've seen with how well that single player looked. Because it looked flat out amazing and doubting DICE's multiplayer creation abilities is the dumbest thing you can do, so I have no worries about how good all around this game will be and sell well for it.

I can't predict PC sales since digital purchases aren't tracked. But I would say 500-750k physical copies of the PC version.

seeing as how the pc version outsold the xbox and ps3 version of bc2. Plus seeing how bf2 has a HUGE fanbase on the pc, I would say 1.5 mill. for the pc. 2 million on consoles are prordered. That will add up to be 3.5 million+ I would say 4 million + or - .5 mill.

First week? Say, around 3 or 4 million, give or take a million. Overall? Around 8-9 million, maybe as high as 10 who knows, not as much as MW3 but a lot more than BC2.

The beta had I believe 8 million log into it. So I would expect sales to be half that especially given this is a popular multi plat.
