Batman: Arkham City Launch Issues Not A Joke

WorthPlaying writes, "Warner Bros. has missed the ball with the Batman: Arkham City. Many fans who picked up the Collector's Edition have been reporting a number of serious issues. PS3 owners were promised a copy of the animated movie, "Batman: Gotham Knight" on Blu-ray, but they only received it on DVD. The four collectible cards and Catwoman unlock code are simply not included in the package, while the Robin DLC redeem code is not working at all."

thats what they get for taking away Single player content and putting it as a Online pass so even if you bought the game new some people cant use it since not everyone one is connected to the internet. rocksteady, you should've just had the content in the game from the start instead of making this online pass crap just to make an extra buck.

Autodidactdystopia4568d ago

Ill wait for the proper crack and then play all of it.
----For normal price.

Syriel4568d ago

Agreed. Too many "exclusive" pre-order offerings and not enough planning. If you read the official forums there are even people complaining about the DLC being corrupt after downloading and crashing the game. :(

Sucks to see what looks like a good game plagued by a poorly organized launch.

Sidewinder-4568d ago

Good. No offence meant to the poor people who've been fucked over, but I hope this practice gets thrown out the window.

Pre-order bullshit, DLC, all of it. It's just a pain in the arse, and here it is plain to see.

Pintheshadows4568d ago (Edited 4568d ago )

The extra outfits are a joke. Shouldn't we be rewarded with them by playing through the game.

Capcom started it. I blame trophies and achievements. I think they have tried to replace in game rewards with them.

Sidewinder-4568d ago (Edited 4568d ago )

Yeah! The good old fashioned way.

Capcom were good for that, PS1 era; till they went evil.

Iroquois_Pliskin4568d ago (Edited 4568d ago )

couldnt have agreed more! All this download pre order bonus bullsh*t just ruined the game... I hope you learn your lesson rocksteady/warner; cos this isnt looking good for you

Kran4568d ago

You mean:

"Batman: Arkham City Launch Issues Not A Joker?!"

OH CMON. Its a lame joke but somebody was bound to say it!

Quagmire4568d ago

LOL, I feel sorry for people who buy this Day 1. It looks like a great game, but I refuse to buy anything day 1 with DLC/Online Passes/Skins/Pre-Order BULLSHIT all over the fucking place.

I'll wait for the GOTY edition thanks.

Pintheshadows4568d ago

I'm weak of will. I can't help myself. I'm sorry. I just love Batman.

I'd also make a terrible Green Lantern.

The Arkham games are largely excellent, a shame they are being followed up by that god awful looking suicide squad game.

RaidenBlack189d ago

All 4 Arkham games are just amazing...
With the Gotham Knights turning out sub par, hope the Suicide Squad fails as well... So that both Rocksteady and WB Montreal goes back to creating good single player DC games ...
A batman beyond game maybe?

anal_vegan_moans189d ago

Having the game fail would make it harder for them to get funding for their next game, please don't wish this on them. They already delayed the game a whole year after backlash, so we still have to wait and see how it will turn out.

GhostScholar188d ago

I think asylum and origins were great. City was good. Knight was horrible.

You can't expect a game to match 96-94 meta apple for apple. Different era and different gen. No need to diminish either game's achievement. Arkham City and Spiderman 2 are both amazing sequels that improved upon their already incredible first parts.

Tacoboto189d ago

To back that up, there are major websites that adjusted their review scales.

IGN used to have a 100 point system; now it's a 10 point system. I remember GameSpot back in 2004 was razed for giving Halo 2 a 9.4 when IGN gave it like a 9.7 or 9.8

darthv72189d ago

Arkham Asylum was great, but when City came out... wow what a total overhaul that was. Nothing has had that type of night/day difference in scope and scale since.

SM2 is looking to be a great game in itself. Definitely an upgrade over the previous entries. Just from the opening battle with sandman, it gives me god of war 2 vibes with how that one opened with the battle with colossus of rhodes. That is still one of my favorite sequels of all time.

Zeke68189d ago

Thanks for the spoiler how the game starts loser...

darthv72188d ago

Zeke... you've had plenty of time to play god of war 2.

GaboonViper189d ago

And right on cue, here comes the downplaying of Insomniacs masterpiece, not gonna work, this game is gonna be beast in success.

BehindTheRows189d ago

From the same folks who gave it a 10/10 no less.

Aloymetal189d ago

'' here comes the downplaying of Insomniacs masterpiece''
You know that train is never late.
