A Deus Ex and Metal Gear cross over in route ?

For the launch of Deus Ex : Human Revolution in Paris, David Anfossi (Chief producer of the game) met Final Fantasy Dream.
It was the moment to talk about a cross over with Metal Gear.

FINAL FANTASY DREAM: Last question, when we saw Deus Ex: Human Revolution for the first time [...]I thought to Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots, more I saw that you had worked on Splinter Cell. Are you interested to working with Hideo Kojima on an episode Cross Over between these two worlds that are Metal Gear Solid and Deus Ex ?
David Anfossi: It's hard, but if it can match the experience Deus Ex, it would be a great pleasure. I was lucky to meet Hideo Kojima, to play the game last year at the GDC (Game Developer Conference), but we didn't really have time to talk a lot. We're fans of his work, it appears in game mechanics, especially in the stealth mode, but also in terms of visual and increases. It is a true inspiration to us. If this can be a common project, it would be a great honor.

I would buy a game featuring both of them teaming up.
Adam can give snake some implants so he does not feel like a old man.

Metal Gear Solid and Deus Ex:Human Revolution are perfect for a crossover. They are so similar, both thematically and in terms of gameplay, that a crossover would make perfect sense...And be a dream to play.

Story is similar too. Illuminati/Patriots looking to use technology to control people.

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle7d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger7d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag7d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.
