3DS Not Worth Buying: Are You Nuts?

I'll give the vita and the 3ds a chance to prevail.
The first year of any gaming console/handheld is not the strongest games wise!
All the good games comes a year or two later so I'll reserve my judgment about vita vs 3ds.

Do not forget that everyone praised the psp and how it totally will destroy the ds,
And we know what happened.
Not only in sales, but the ds (arguable) got Better library of games.

So that's what I want in the vita/3ds, Good GAMES!
....graphics get outdated after a while, but great games memories stay forever!

Well, PSP had a good start until piracy rear it's head in and the whole CFW thing. Getting a PSP was just so easy especially within year 1 of it's release. Everyone I knew had a hacked PSP. Sony vs. hackers, etc. Devs openly announcing that they are hesitant in bringing titles over, blah blah blah. As a result, PSP did not do as hot as it could have. In Japan, the PSP is still moving strong.

So hopefully that won't repeat on the PSVita.

Piracy had very little to do with it. Nintendo also had really bad piracy issues, and they did just fine. Lack of games hurt the PSP in America, which is not a problem in Japan.

I have to agree. The PSP was hindered greatly by piracy! Everyone that I know that has one does just that!

I am sure the 3DS is a fine system, hey it is Nintendo, but the 3d thing isn't for me. I personally don't like it.

Damn, look at the Dissidia downloads of torrents.

When the amount of illegal downloads is more than twice the sales of the game, you know for sure piracy definitely was an issue for the PSP and this is just torrents not to talk of other file hosting websites.

I'm suprised SE released duodecim after seeing that.

A port, a port, and a "full fledged" game of a Wii Sports Resort minigame.

As a new game system owner, I would "smile" about 3 ports? No.

At least wait for Paper Mario XX, Mario Kart XX, and Super Mario XX before telling me I'm "nuts" for not being ecstatic about a PORTS-able game system.

I agree,but before it wasn't,now it might be. I would really only get it for paper Mario,brawl,ad Pokemon,BUT THATS IT!For ngp i would get lbp,mod nation racers,call of duty,Reality Figures,sound shapes,and just alot more.I feel like ngp games have alot more content and have higher quality.Oh and pokemon is in google's dictionary.All the dislikes will come from 5 year old's or Nintendo fanboys(which is rare if they older than 15)My grandma plays wii....just sad.I use to love nintendo but they went so low :c But i will likly buy 3ds when it gets ANOTHER price cut

Pokemon will be the absolute shit and everyone knows it. That's what a lot of people are waiting for. It's the only reason I bought the DS.

Totally Agree. I bought it day one and do not regret it. Would have rather had it for the new price sure but Nintendo did well by giving 20 classics away to make up for it. Ultimately I made the choice to purchase day 1.

If its the headache issue scarring people off...all I can say is the effect is optional. The graphics and screen are leaps ahead of the DS with or without 3D on. If in the market for a handheld 3DS is by far the best option.

Even though I plan on getting the PSVita I don't knock the 3DS. Nintendo really does make some fun games. I've spent hours on some DS games, so I know there are/ will be 3DS games that are great.

Just because I'm personally uninterested in what the Vita looks to provide so far, I understand that are, and respect that.

It's because it's a Nintendo 3DS and not a Sony 3DS. The majority of this website doesn't like anything not manufactured by Sony. My stepson just got a Nintendo 3DS for his bday this past weekend. He loves it. I personally will be buying a Sony PS Vita sometime next year because it appeals to me more. But there is absolutely no reason for anybody to hate on the Nintendo 3DS. Especially at the price tag of $169.00 USD.

Nintendo's big mistake was holding back their main titles to let the third parties develop for the system. But it is a great console, it just needs great games.

Oh, I get it now. This why Modojo is always mouthing off negative things about the VITA. They are pro 3DS and are trying to bad mouth the VITA before its even out. The truth always comes out eventually. @ ronin4life No one should do either one or the other. You can't just constantly diss the VITA because you are rooting for the 3DS. Predicting failure for the VITA based on the fact that you like the 3DS is very unprofessional.

The 3D field of vision is too narrow. I usually just turn it off. gives you a headache after about 30min.

I think it's different from person to person though. Like for me, the field of vision seems big enough and 3D never hurts my eyes. But then again, I have horrible eyesight to begin with...
