Sledgehammer: Infinity Ward “the best FPS developer out there”

3 years ago I would have put them up at top 3 as far as fps devs go. Valve #1 Bungie #2. 3 years ago DICE were whoring themselves to the console so they weren't even top 10.

The problem is the core of Infinity Ward stuck together but go under Respawn. So I see this comment as "Respawn Ent. the best fps dev out there"

There Certainly up there ^^ much better than Valve for Fps id say.... alot better lol Valve are good with stories and shiz but when it comes down to the core mechanics of a shooter there not up there

It is because the xbox 360. You should see the article that M$ forces devs to do stuff and make the PS3 on par with the 360. So if it aint in HD then it is because of the 360.

Dice is not the best FPS dev out there. Their online FPS are almost exactly the same. MOH, battlefield, Battlefield bad company, etc... Those games all are about the exact same online.

BF3 is just BF2 with pretty graphics.

Lol these devs are so high of themselves. They're average at best, but they think they're better than everyone else. The games they make are some of the lowest quality wise in the industry.

I'm NEVER going to support another CoD title in my life. All these sequels are just cheap rehashes. The devs are just way too full of themselves as well.

ND could very easily make an FPS that destroys CoD in quality.

Well they've got some of the higest ranked and grossing FPS games of this generation under them. So it would be tough to argue really, unless of course you consider "best FPS developer" to actually mean "best visuals".

Let em sell more than anybody else. I had WAY more fun with Killzone 2 and BFBC2 than I had with ANY IW game. And both of those games do virtually everything better than Call of Duty does. Well, except killstreaks.

It’s funny how Treyarch can skew everyone’s opinion on Infinity Ward. MW1 was a masterpiece, arguably the best FPS release in the past decade. MW2 was unbalanced but really fun and addictive. I think IW deserves the benefit of the doubt, but is not getting it thanks to pile-of-Crap Ops.

Best or not is subjective, I don't think the gaming community could crown a unified best. Too many great devs. I do think valve def pops in my mind as a front runner, so does bungie, and insomniac. And irrational. God I loved bioshock.

People do like to bitch about old engines but Valve is easily forgiven and considered one of the best because of the support they give their games.

I remember playing the map "Overgrown" in CoD4 and that map stayed broken for at least 8 months. You remember the huge rocks under the main two story house? Yeah...broken for months.

That would never happen to a Valve game. There's almost always updates whether it's game fixes or free content. IW eventually got around to fixing it, but they gave up with MW2, especially since that's when they stopped doing betas. Remember the care package glitch, or the Javelin glitch? Broken for months.

That's the difference between a AAA dev and a used to be AAA dev. AAA devs don't punish their community by ignoring issues that arise. That's why people jump on IW/Treyarch/nameless CoD dev...

for me the best fps devs of all time are: bungie (off course, NOBODY CAN DISAGREE WITH THAT!), infinity ward, valve, dice, rare (back when they were good) and free radical (also back when they were good).

i think infinity ward isnt good anymore cuz most of the ppl left for respawn except for robert bowling.

i really wouldnt give it to gearbox, iw did 2 something innovative (mildly) they basically started the over saturation of fpses. but they made online really fun again, plus addicting, and lvling up and stuff. also the modern setting (while not really new but something fresh from ww2 fpses). i still think cod4 is one of the best fpses out there and is right now the best cod available!
