the dlc costs more than the game

Sheep all over are just giddy with excitement.

Rush4632d ago

Am all for Call of Duty hate but if they enjoy the game they enjoy it.

3GenGames4632d ago

Yeah, sure. Just realize you're spending $15 on one map of zombies and 4 filler maps to get the $15 out of your pocket. THEN THEY WILL SAY GO BUY MW3 which is another $60 and more DLC. Wash, rinse, repeat...

Motorola4632d ago (Edited 4632d ago )

If they enjoy it, let them buy it. No need to insult them by calling them sheep, it's their money. A lot of companies release games for 60 dollars and DLC after it. Skyrim will do that, BF3 will do that, Uncharted 2 did, Halo 3 and Reach did. Stop hating, let people play what they want. They may be filler maps to you, but I enjoyed them and I think differently. Grow up.

@ 3GenGames

"Just realize you're spending $15 on one map of zombies and 4 filler maps to get the $15 out of your pocket."

So that's 5 maps for $15. Doesn't seem too bad if you are really into zombies and haven't played those maps before...

I think I'll skip it though, haven't been interested in zombies for awhile now.

@ Motorola
I agree. If people want to buy it, why insult them? There have been plenty of times when sales for games have been pretty low because gamers panned them. We vote with our dollars and the companies are listening.

I actually don't mind spending the money on the maps. I know the days of old where maps were free on the computer are long gone. I understand that consoles are closed platforms and thus we can never have the same experiences that were allowed back then. I have bought every map pack thus far and honestly have not been disappointed. If you break down the cost of the map packs at 15 bucks a piece that is a little bit more than two hours of work in the U.S. working a minimum wage job. I have spent more than 2 hours alone on each zombie map, before even playing the other maps in SnD and other game types. Therefore when i break it down, i don't mind spending the money because i get more my money's worth of entertainment.

Rush4632d ago

The day's maps where released for free are not long gone, look at Left 4 Dead 2 on the PC.

And the reason developers charge for maps is because people like you don't care about paying for them.

The second people stop caring about paying for Air is the second some smart ass starts charging for it.

likewhoaaa4632d ago (Edited 4632d ago )

They put out two new maps for the pc, then rehashed and updated other maps. BTW it took them over 2 years to get all those maps out, while amateur map makers continue to create maps for the game. When a developer takes the time to professionally make maps why shouldn't they get paid.
I don't blindly buy random DLC. I have only bought the DLC's for BO because i love zombies that much. I know that i can easily get 60 dollars worth of entertainment from those maps and that is why i support them. I don't like having to pay for something i believe should be free, but since the times have changed i have adapted a little bit.

Do you spend 20 dollars to goto the movies? Do you b*tch and moan about it? In the end you just spent 20 dollars for less than 3 hours worth of your time. But rationalizing it to you is kinda dumb because you are already biased .

Motorola4632d ago

L4D2 is doing the same thing but they aren't charging for it. Those are old L4D 1 maps sometimes

PIayStation4632d ago

The day a map pack can blow my mind and make me remember it for years like a movie does is the day i'll spend 15 dollars on it. Comparing the two may seem like a fair fight, but its not.

likewhoaaa4632d ago

movies and games are entertainment so comparing the two is actually a legit comparison. movies have become shoddy id rather torrent them before wasting money to go see it. if its good ill give the production company my money

Black Ops 1 Nuketown versus Cold War Nuketown '84

From DownSights: "Black Ops is not Black Ops without Nuketown. Following the tradition of releasing Nuketown for Black Ops games, the new Black Ops Cold War game also offers a revamped Nuketown called Nuketown '84.

Nuketown '84 has the same dimensions and map layout except for the aesthetics. The map's aesthetics have changed to fit the 80s theme, with destroyed buildings and graffiti-filled walls compared to a clean 50s suburban neighborhood seen in Black Ops 1."
