Cant decide whether to preorder or wait for the GotY Edition.

fluffydelusions4683d ago

This game will be day 1 for me.

Blacktric4683d ago

You're not serious are you? This isn't a game to fill in the development schedule spot like New Vegas. It's an all new Elder Scrolls for God's sake. PRE ORDER IT NAOW!

StanLee4683d ago (Edited 4683d ago )

Yeah but you know there'll inevitably be a GOTY Edition with all the DLC. That's the kind of bullshit you have to deal with. I'm finding that if you buy a game at launch you usually get screwed. Shit like that pisses people off.

Dude, I've had this game pre-ordered and paided off since January of this year. I'm more worried about what to wear to the midnight release than pre-ordering the game at this point. I'm stuck between wearing my full out samurai gear or just walk in with my viking helmet on and my Scottish claymore.

SuperSaiyan44683d ago

I am wondering if there will be a collectors edition...

Kee4683d ago

A physical map is a little pointless when you can look at the in game one so easily. The one in-game even tells you where you are on it.

kramun4683d ago

A lot of people would like one, seriously. I loved the days when games came with a map and a big manual and all that other crap most people wouldn't care for nowadays. Every rpg should come with a map you can fold out and look at, it makes it a bit more immersive.

Sure it's a bit geeky, but it adds to the fun.

Gambit074683d ago

Physical map? What is this 1986?

Jack-Pyro4683d ago

Nah Man its 1492!

How else are we gonna discover the new world!

persistentlobster4683d ago

I hope in skyrim you can make notes on the in-game map. There were so many instances where i would find a safe/chest that i couldn't open yet because my lockpick skill wasn't high enough. Then when i finally got my lockpick to 100 i couldn't remember where the treasure was :(

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast13d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22913d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko13d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
