The bland and ugly Duke Nukem Forever turns a famous gaming icon into an embarrassment.
Duke Nukem Forever originally began its life as a sidescroller instead of a shooter back in 1996, and that canceled version has just been leaked.

kinda of a misleading title.
Mod features:
Sprinting removed and faster player movement
Jump height increased
Swim speed is much faster
Player can now hold breath underwater for 45 seconds instead of 15
Weapon rebalance and screen shake when shooting removed
2/4 weapon limit completelly removed
Quicksaves (F5 by default)
Depth of Field removed and new post processing effects
Driving sections are now in first person perspective

It is pretty amazing, I remember being so hyped that they covered the Duke theme back when it happened haha. I still quite enjoyed Forever though personally.

Wow, that advanced lighting makes a huge difference to the visuals. I get that Gearbox tried to slap everything together and release a finished product. But it seems like they cut out a lot of content that would have made the experience more enjoyable. That's a shame.
Same, the AI could be pretty dumb but the bosses were fun. I thought the levels (mostly) got better later in the game too.

Im sorry, but I don't see why this game should be treated as a special case in the modern video game market in terms of reception and review scores. If it sucks, it sucks and we as gamers have to face that fact. I will rent first and buy later only if I like it, not because of infatuated nostalgia for a gaming era that has long since ended. By buying a turd, you support the creation of more turds to sell. If the game is as bad as reviewers are saying, perhaps it should have been held back longer or cancelled. The industry shouldn't have to move backwards for a game. As of right now, DNF is getting scores it seemingly deserves as they have been generally negative all around the board.

I'm enjoying my Balls of Steel Edition, shooting pigs with my shotgun, that's all I need from Duke.
Wow a 3.5 I can honestly say I really didnt see that one coming. When I first looked at it I honestly thought it was out of 5. lol
