What We Want To See In Persona 5

Catherine's development is pretty much done, and Persona 4 came out 3 years ago. This probably means one thing: Persona 5 is on the way. The Nightmare Mode staff sits down and talks about the things they'd like to see in the franchise, including an older setting, more flexibility in relationships, cameos and more.

Who the hell cares?

What we want to see in Persona 5 is simple--a game called Persona 5. They can do whatever the hell they want, for whatever the hell platform they want, just give us something.

Though I'd be remiss if I didn't say that my ideal platform for Persona 5 would be the PS3: and a 3DS adaptation of Persona 4 would be most welcome. I'd like to keep the main Persona titles off handhelds, since Dragon Quest has already abandoned consoles for handhelds.

I think a great way to mix it up would be by making the cast a little older and giving them more adult problems to deal with in college.

The game has always been about social interaction, and I think that would freshen it up. New problems, but you still get the schedules and school atmosphere that set the tone for the series.

I'm glad the people who wrote this aren't in charge of P5's development. I understand where they're coming from in a lot of places, but I like a lot of the things they complain about. I have no idea how they think the relationships in Dragon Age 2 even compare to the ones in P3/4, let alone how they can even suggest that anything in that game comes close to the level of P3/4.

There are some possible changes that I agree with, it would be interesting to see older protagonists, and if they develop for the PS3/360 they should have enough room to make the option for a male or female protagonist like in P3P. In any case what will make P5 a great game are the elements that have already been established in the series over the years, not what they can do to make it "more like (insert overrated Western "RPG" here)".

If Atlus can keep a majority of the aspects that made P3/4 great while tweaking things to make it even better P5 will be another great game in the series. Hopefully they won't take a hint from BioWare or Obsidian but instead stay true to what makes the Persona games unique. Anyone who says otherwise should take a look at the situation SquareEnix and CAPCOM are in, not to mention the downward spiral BioWare seems to be on (at least in terms of creating a true RPG experience).

Sea of stars while seeming pretty good so far doesn't belong in the top rpg discussion. There's way better ones. I'd tell them to play star ocean 2. One of the best non turn based rpgs ever. It has everything.

And if the list is limited to just turn-based RPGs, I can think of better ones to add to this list. You have the Dragon Quest series, the Trails series…Persona 5 Royale is on the list but why limit it to just that one? P3 and P4 were great as well.

The Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, or the Shadow Hearts games has decent enjoyable turn based combat system.

Persona 3 Director Says The Game Saved Atlus From Collapsing

The studio was on the verge of collapse when Persona 3 came out, and things were looking quite grim for Atlus. Regardless, many decisions made in the game paid off and became a staggering success.

Years ago, I was emulating the game on my laptop and the old thing died when I was about to get to the final boss. I'm more than happy to buy this remake when it comes out so I can finish it!

At the time I was immersed in SMT Nocturne and later DDS. I did not realize at all how important Persona would become for me years later.

Persona 3 FES was the first one that I played in the series. Looking forward to the remake.
