It's probably definately true. I saw a behind the scenes vid of the development for GOW3 and I could see them using Autodesk Maya on some of the monitors. I'm currently learning Maya 2011 through a college character develpoment course. Hopefull one day i'll be as good as some of those guys.

The two GOW PSP entries are amazing to my mind. To pull off the epic scale synonymous with GOW1 and 2 you could expect PS3 and GOW3 to be stunning(which it indeed remains to this day-fantastic game)but to do it twice on the small screen of the PSP is little short of magical.

The gaps filled in Kratos' backstory are reason enough for any series fan to pick the two games up but, above that, they stand on the own merits as great, genuinely classy games. That the patented gameplay translates to PSP so well is another boon and they're must plays in the PSP library.

So, for me as a series fan, they stand right up to the incredible home console, main games and stand alongside the other greatest PSP games too. Fantastic stuff.

I started played through ghost of sparta and beat it in a little over a day then I played chains of olympus as it was a free DL with the bundle and I beat it that day... Then I turned around and replaed ghost of sparta.. Man ready at dawn did such a great job on both games.. Best psp titles hands down... Get them now!!

And the HD remakes made sense(for once alongside the Ico/SoTC remakes)because the originals came late in PS2's lifetime and GOW1 was heavily pirated while PS3 was upon us when GOW2 came about meaning many missed out on one of Sony's best games.

Milking is unfair with just one PS3 game since launch and two PSP in, what, 6 years of the handheld's life? This isn't like GH/COD with a game out every year on every platform and DLC besides or expansions dressed up as full games. Milking is a hard thing to pin on many series to be honest and with GOW's odd late arrival on PS2 leaving it underselling it's not fair to accuse S<M's best of it at all.

Whilst I don't exactly know where they'll go with God of War IV, I quite like the Secrecy lingering after the conclusion of the third title. It allowed for fans to sculpt their own opinion on Kratos' fate. And whilst I would prefer that question to remain unanswered, allowing us to maintain that sense of choice (I decided that now he had accomplished his goal he was finally capable of ending his own life in the means he set out to do in the begining of the original God of War, with all his remaining strength, he pulled himself to the cliff edge and threw himself off, in fear that if he did not do so, something would prevent his death and prolong his wait to be with his loved ones). God of War is nothing without Kratos. I love the franchise and I hope that if this proves true, that they continue his story with care and find some means of giving the character purpose now that Zeus is defeated. Bring it on.

Well there were mainly two ideas floating around from the Jaffe and Barlog days. One being Kratos link to other gods such as Norse, with their being a higher plane of existence (like we saw Zeus and Athena ascend to)

The second (which I like better) is after the Gods' defeat, Kratos becomes death incarnate... This has great potential i think. I'd like to see how this happened and what torment (If any) Kratos' soul is in. Maybe never finding redemption, but cursed to take souls from the world. But who or what would curse him? Maybe he cannot die, and is seeking it as his one true escape... Anyways I love GOW and hope this is true. I would also like to see Santa Monica do a Heavenly Sword.

there might be a GOW 4 but it won't be made by the regular sony Santa Monica guys. I remember the recent episodes of bonus round on game trailers john hight the head of Sony Santa Monica studios explicitly said they're going for a new IP that is something "different and unique"

The GOW games are hot...I am still inclined to believe that GOW2 had the most "depth" in terms of story and content, I hope that Santa Monica has some big aces up there sleeves for any secret sequel...it was also reported there is a job posting for an online position at Santa Monica studios..how crazy would a multiplayer component be in a GOW game?

Great news. I hope they follow through with David Jaffe's original thoughts of pushing the series into Norse and Egyptian mythologies. They could easily make a 3 GOW games from each one. Just think of it. Kratos vs Thor! Kratos vs Anubis! (ps - can't wait for Thor this summer)

One the Most epic Ip's ive owned GOD OF WAR never a game was soo in your face like god of war. even the first god of war to me had one the best engies on the ps3. out shines alot games the detail was immense. then number 2 WOW the gods huge. the interaction the kills blood. then after soo many years past. GOW3 KRATOS WAS BACK.!! again just like 1 2 and 3 they managed to keep the game jaw dropping with a engine thats still now one the best. god i cant wait for another ip from these guy's
weather it be GOW4 or another Greek god its gonna be awsome i can feel it.

I love God of War and Kratos but I thought they were taking a break from that series. I was looking forward to what they would've done instead.

And besides there aren't a lot of major Greek Gods left anyway. Unless they want to start doing egyptian mythology, that would be cool.

Also the story of GOW3 wasn't that good, so I'm not sure if Stig could make another good story.

If anyone payed attention to the ending of GoW3 they would see during the lightening strike carved into the stone floor a PHOENIX. If you know the lore of what that means then it is a no brainer that a next part will happen. When I spoke to Stig at last years E3 and threw that question at him he opened his eyes in surprised (that I caught it) and did not say a definitive no to my question.

There are wayyy to many loop holes in the story for SM Studios to run with if they really are making a GOW4 game.
***SPOILERS***

1) When Kratos 'killed' himself at the end of three, he still had the soul of an immortal (Hades) inside of him, so how do we know he is mortal or immortal?

2) Ghost of Sparta Introduced the concept of Deities that pre-date the titans OR Gods

3) Jaffe's original intent for Kratos was for him to be the destroyer of not just greek, but all ancient mythology

There's more than enough room for a decent story for them to run with, and I for one can't wait!!! :)
